Cowboys Fire Phillips, Promote Garrett Written by Staff and Wire Reports Monday, 08 November 2010 15:01 Firing Comes After Humiliating 45-7 Loss To Packers Wade Phillips has been fired as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett will take over, according to a television sports report in Dallas. CBS-11 reported Monday that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made the move following the team's humiliating 45-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night. The loss left the team with a very disappointing 1-7 record. After the game, Jones said he "can't stomach" his team's performance and that "people will suffer" because of it. I don't think Garrett will be the HC next season, he'll probably just finish out the season. I would expect Jones to go after a big name after the season is over, but unless he gives up control and hires a real GM, it won't matter.
