Brett is not in the right mindset to play

There was just a conference by Packers coach on the news. Now remember, I am a lousy stenographer.

It ws reported that Brett left the stadium shaking his head. The coach said that Brett, coach and the prez had a 2 hour meeting which was "brutally honest," healthy and they agreed to disagree. Big question for coach is whether Brett is committed to play. "I am not speaking for him, but Brett was not in the right mindset to play...not set to play here because of the things that went on before. " They will talk again tonight. Coach's focus is on what is best for the team and "he is only 1 of 80 and to move forward with his role being defined, frankly...where is your mind at." "It is very personal for Brett and he is not in prorer mindset to move forward with the team. He needs to jump on the train." Coach said that he will not let anythone with a negative mindset (obviously his favorite coach-speak ) into the locker room. "The path to where we are has done some damage."

Coach would not entertain questions about Minnesota or trades.

And so the saga continues.....

Saying that Favre is not in the right mindset to play I believe was a bad choice of words for the coach. The coach seemed to be making Brett look like the bad guy so to justify the way the organization has handled all this mess. You could tell it on his face and by the way he was answering questions during that press conference that he was being somewhat deceitful. Speaking for the organization, the coach during the meeting with Favre probably went back on some things that were said earlier in the week to include having an open competetion and that's why Favre was upset and is now looking at trades.
The Coach probably told Favre straight to his face that they want to go with Rodgers but he wasn't going to reveal that at the press conference cause then they would be the bad guys. Heck they may have even up'd the offer to $30 million for Favre to retire and he drove off to think about it. Lets make arguably the greatest QB in NFL history look like a headcase is what the Packers are thinking, Fukn Pricks!!!

I don't dislike rodgers but i hope he has a horrible year and the Packers go 6-10.

That would suck for Packer fans, but it would be sweet if Favre got traded and took his new team deep in the playoffs.

I guess being in the right mindset to play means accepting the role the team offered as a backup QB...I guess.

You could be right. The Headline of the sports section was : "Favre all but gone." Even the players wanted this resolved. I will miss him because I have always enjoyed his play, but to quote a political group, "Move On."

Agreed.

I have seen enough. ESPN must be hard-up for some news.
