Houston has had one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL for some time. In 2009 the Texans had the 4th best offense in the league collecting 6129 total yards over the course of the regular season. The vast majority of them came thanks to a passing game that averaged 290 yards per game.
As exciting as the passing numbers often made games, the Texans often had trouble producing numbers were it counted—on the scoreboard. In 2008 the team scored 366 points during the regular season, good enough for 17th in the league even though they tallied more than 6000 yards in total offense.
