Ramos' Mission: Three-hit complete game San Antonio starter rebounds from early-season woes against Midland By Michael Echan / Special to MLB.com So much for his slow start. Cesar Ramos came into Monday's game with a bloated 7.71 ERA, but was nearly untouchable as he fired a three-hit complete-game shutout in San Antonio's 4-0 win over Midland at Nelson W. Wolff Stadium. Ramos (2-2) had been battered through his first four starts of the season, giving up 16 earned runs in 18 2/3 innings as the Texas League was hitting .333 against him. He had already suffered a loss to the RockHounds 10 days earlier, despite giving up just two runs in six innings. But Midland didn't even get half as many runners across the plate this time. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/n...milb&fext=.jsp

We'll be at tonight's game as well. The Hooks have started the first half of the season on the slow mark so hopefully the Missions will take advantage of this opportunity to regain the top spot of the division. Both Frisco and Midland are going to have their own series as well.

| It was wonderful to go in there and leave with a win. My husband and I have gone to four Missions road games to Corpus prior to last night and we lost all four. Last night was special. The Missions took advantage of a struggling team. Ramos had a great outing and almost went to the distance with this one.

Missions - 5 Hooks - 8 Att: 6,914 ![]() Ramos threw the first nine-inning shutout in the Texas League this season, a 4-0 win over the RockHounds two Saturdays ago. Ramos allowed just three hits and one walk, while striking out six. Then this past Saturday, he picked up a 6-2 win over Corpus Christi. Great job Ramos!!

The Missions are slumping just a little bit but they play Corpus and the Hooks are still in bad shape. I hope the Missions will take advantage of a struggeling team this time around and get back in the divisional race with Midland & Frisco. The last series against the Hooks, the Missions only got two wins down in the Coastal Bend. They lost the next two nights. We need a winning streak badly.
