The four-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs begin their 2008-09 campaign with a home pre-season game tonight (Oct. 10) against the New Orleans Hornets at AT&T Center.
The Spurs say they have partnered with H.E. Butt Grocery Co. (H-E-B) to offer fans a limited number of $5 tickets to the Hornets game and three other pre-season match-ups.
The seats are located in Club 200, which is the upper level in AT&T Center. After the Hornets, the Spurs’ home pre-season schedule includes the Indiana Pacers (Oct. 18), Washington Wizards (Oct. 22) and Miami Heat (Oct. 24).
All Spurs home pre-season games tip off at 7:30 p.m.
Pre-season tickets range in price from $5 to $175. Pre-season tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster Ticket Center locations. They can also be charged by phone at 210-225-TEAM, in person at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com or Spurs.com.

Not really. Because you still have courtesy fees, building fees, taxes, and another fee to print the ticket on your printer, or a fee to pick up your ticket at the window, etc.
That $5 ticket will end up being $45.
I got mine for tonight. 5 $5 tickets = $43.80. But hey, everybody's got to get their piece of the action. It's cheaper than usual, and my kids don't care that it's a preseason game.

If you're spending $50 on beer, then you've got bigger issues than ticket and parking prices. What, are you a Thunder fan or something?
"Hey, did you go to the Thunder game last night?"
"Yeah, man. It was AWESOME!"
"Dude, they LOST 147-65."
"Yeah, but I was so wasted I don't remember a thing. It was AWESOME!"

That's a little high. I was trying to make a point. When they $5, it really means $40 or so.
As far as the beer goes. It's $6 a beer. So I will probably spend $30 on beer. 5 beers is good for a game.
If you get wasted on $50 for beer. I would consider that a lightweight. You could get a hard buzz, but not wasted.
