Maybe I stand alone here...

But - I just finished reading the "Rejoice the Lakers are dead" thread.
(Hey I just made a rhyme.)

And I have a take that may sound a little weird
Stay with me here.

I Hate the Lakers (notice the capitol "H")
I want to see them lose as bad as the next guy
But I don't take any great pride in seeing them fall
in this series...

Why?
Because WE didn't get the job done

I LOVE MY SPURS
you won't hear me talking about - who we should get rid of
or The games being fixed for the Lakers
In fact I have barely watched a game since we've
been eliminated - I can't do it.

But I would be the first one to
Tip over my neighbors car and set his cat on fire
if We were the ones who eliminated those guys.
(note that my neighbor is 87 and doesn't drive so she doesn't own a car
nor does she own a Cat)

As it stands I am glad the Lakers are in the position they are in
But - as for rejoicing, naaa.

Just wish we had gotten the job done.

I'm not ashamed to say that I will be thrilled if the Lakers go down.

Yeah....I wish the Spurs would have beaten LA.

But I'll get some pleasure in seeing Malone NOT get his ring, Phil NOT get his 10th, and a team that tried to coattail their way to a championship NOT get it.

I'd much rather see them go out crying, on the verge of breaking up, than hoisting a trophy.

I'm with you. I wish we had been able to defend our title. I'm not into the conspiracy theories either, and as BS a call as *.4 was, it wouldn't have even mattered if we had taken care of business.

But on another note, Hedo has to go!

I became a Spurs fan because first and foremost I am a basketball fan. I love the game, I'm to old to play it now, but I played until I was like 47 or 48, I'm 53 now coming off 2 knee surgeries, none because of Basketball, so I just can't move anymore but if I'm driving down the street and I see guys playing in the park, I have to rubberneck that way to see if I see a good play or a good shot, or a good anything.

so yeah I'm heartbroken my Spurs aren't there, but I gotta watch, I've only missed one finals since the 70's and that was the Laker's -nets cause I was so pissed with the fiasco of game 6 of the SAC -LA series, but I'm over that now.

Go Pistons Go, bury those Lakers.

The thing about it is....if the Lakers are stopped now,......you may stop them for seasons to come. They are clearly in need of some rebuilding...especially if Kove leaves.Stop them now.....and it could be over for a while.
