| Hornets Want To Keep Bowen, But Not Bonzi? | | The Hornets are unlikely to re-sign free agent swingman Bonzi Wells, but Ryan Bowen might be extended an offer.
The club lost Chris Andersen to free agency and are working on a deal with Jannero Pargo. RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Hornets Want To Keep Bowen, But Not Bonzi?

| I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Bonzi for cheap money. Usually when the Spurs have only one hotheaded dumb azz on the team it works out pretty well. He is capable of playing really well, and is a great rebounder at the SF position, something this team could use more of.
I am surprised they would rather have Ryan then Wells though, I guess attitude work ethic goes a long way for Scott and the FO. |

That's true, but he killed us a couple of years ago. |

| I wouldn't mind taking a stab at Bonzi. But I doubt 1.9 mill would be enough to motivate him. |

| I like Bonzi and we need one more at that spot but if we sign him then we say goodbye to Gist and Harriston because I doubt the Spurs pick up those contracts as well. Plus the Spurs still need a big man. We have not come close to addressing that issue and KT won't be able to play more then 15-18 min a night if we want him healthy for the playoffs |

| David Harrison is insane...
Based purely off of basketball, I'd be ok with him, but based off of team chemistry, I don't know that I would want him. |

I don't know that the Spurs want to take a chance on someone like that, But we need something. |

I wouldn't mind giving him a shot at the right price ($1.5 mil or so) |

1. the Spurs are confident that the rotation of Tim, Bonner, Ian and Kurt will be enough at the big man spot
2. they're gonna play a lot of small ball plus Tim, relying on Bonzi's known abilities to bang the glass.
I think I'm ok with that..........I think. |

His first season in Houston (JVG), he moped, killed chemistry and eventually bailed a couple weeks before the playoffs by sending a text message to the trainer(?).
His second season, with Adelman, he still moped, and was shipped to NOH AFTER Yao was lost for the season.
Now NOH doesn't want him back.
He's been described as 'low risk, high reward' because of the small contract he signed after the SAC debacle, but no one who's taken the risk wants him around. |

| I say go for him, on one condition? That in the contract, he signs on top of it" I will play for you guys the way I played against you guys in the 2006 playoffs every single game"!! Now that would be great!!! But seriously, I just think he has to be on a team where he knows he will get to play, and also knows he has a great chance at winning a title. And he will self-motivate himself, and his true potential will come out. He can play ball, I still remember when he was in Portland he was a Monster!! And in Sacramento. |

| i think bonzi is pretty much a better option than finely and would be pretty sure that pop would put bonzi in his place espicailly playing with the big 3 and getting deep in the playoffs surely would kind of motivate him lets give him a shot 1 or 2 year contract
and trade bonner, harriston and maybe even fab or vaughn for a yung big man like kristic who i would love to get now |
