Spurs won't re-sign Jackson

Spurs won't re-sign Jackson
By Jeff McDonald on Mar 20, 10 12:24 AM

Quote:
The Spurs have informed guard Cedric Jackson, whose 10-day contract expired Friday, that they don't intend to sign him to another one.

Jackson played in three games during his stint with the Spurs, averaging 2.3 points in 8.3 minutes. He said he plans to return to the Developmental League's Erie BayHawks, where he spent 30 games this season between NBA call-ups with the Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers.

I think they saw all they needed to see in practice and in game. I think he has a decent chance on being with the team in the summer.

They'll probably waive Temple as well. Although, he has more size to guard taller guys.

I see Temple staying for another ten days, since we need to fill that roster position

Oh they need another body to fill a spot, but I wouldn't be shocked to see another guy come in.

Isn't Antonio Daniels still a free agent? Any word on him? I didn't see his name on the NBA.com player directory. You think the player minimum would be too much to pay for a Spurs savvy player at this point going down the home stretch? Just an idea.

It's too late to sign anyone if you want them to play in the post season. By this point ,I doubt they'd take on Daniels over young guys for evaluation.

jackson looked good. good defense. has the ability to score. but honestly...with parker and hill...we won't really need another point guard.

But that's the thing. They are limited on ball handlers and Mason won't be back. Also, with Hill/Parker starting, you still want another ball handler. And a defensive one is always useful.
