Seriously: the next George Hill. From a small, non-bball powerhouse (Harvard), and compare his senior year stats to Hill's: 21.5 pts, 6.8 rebs, 4.3 assists per game Lin: 18.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 2.1 steals per game I want to pump his profile up as an Asian-Am, but at the same time, I almost want him to fly under the radar so the Spurs can pick him up late in the draft. And before you say that he plays in a weak conference, etc., consider this past week he just dropped 30 on UConn (in a loss) and 25 on Boston College (in a win). UConn highlights: YouTube - Jeremy Lin : Harvard vs UConn (30 pts, 2 dunks) |

| That would be George Hill 2.0 though. A guy who has a lot of upside, but still isn't to that point.

| Could be worse . . . we still could be talking about bringing in the next James White or something.

had to dig this thread back up now that Lin's on the verge of making it into the NBA (via the Warriors): Sources: Harvard's Jeremy Lin, Golden State Warriors close to deal - ESPN |

He's already got a 2 year contract with his hometown team. Golden State Warriors. He led Palo Alto High to the State Championship in Basketball. Palo Alto is a mere 40 minutes away from Oracle Arena. Having said that, don't be surprised of GSW relocates to Vegas.

I've covered him in person two times in person. Lin is an intelligent player but doesn't have the wingspan of Hill nor the defensive acumen like Hill has when guarding straight up on the perimeter. Lin works hard but I think if he sticks, he will be a backup at best and not Hill-like.

In the offseason I also said we should´ve picked him. I didn´t state basketball reasons though. Just the feel good / asian market reason.

I know I say all this time, but let's not get too excited yet. He plays for D'antoni, who basically let's players jack up a shot every 2 seconds. He'll slow down, and he'll have to actually play like a point guard so his team doesn't lose.

Nice call. But I don't feel bad for not seeing what nobody in the NBA saw until it happened. He is one of those rare creatures who contributes massively when he controls the ball and the game, but who doesn't really show up on the radar screen when you plug him in as just another player or backup. It is all or nothing. |

lol i wish. teams are going to over pay for him just because of his marketability and his skills. houston is the one that should really be kicking themselves right now. no one saw linsanity coming.

Looks like all of China is now rooting for Knicks instead of Houston. Houston got rid of both of their asians, in a asian populated city. |
