Wouldn't want to be a Suns fan and see this post. Geez! No wonder they hate us. Good list, though I'd probably put Sean's shot 1. It started it all. Horry was more about the entire 4th Quarter and OT (plus the end of the 3rd). I would also like to nominate Wingate's 24 footer to force OT in game 5 against the Blazers in 1990.

the greatest shot in spurs history: sean elliot's memorial day miracle. because it instilled in the minds of spurs fans that this team was destined to win the championship that year. plus it was difficult as hell.

Horry's dagger was pretty, but Sean's shot put us in unprecedented territory. Not to mention that the Spurs did not have the lead at any point in that game up until that shot. Also, the Memorial Day Miracle was a part of an NBC broadcast, not the crappy ABC bombard-the-viewer-with-meaningless-montages-set-to-Matchbox-20 coverage that Horry's shot got. Gotta give the edge to Bob Costas.

Other than the 1st three, they were not in exact order. I also thought of Barry's 3 pointer to force overtime vs Kings Game 2 2006 which I would put in place of Horry's vs Nuggets where we had a 1 point lead when he hit it. Thanks for the responses.

No matter how painful the aftermaths were, I think Tim's 0.4 and Manu's 3 in game 7 against Dallas should be up there. If those games had ended as Spurs wins, they would be #1 and #1a for me.
__________________ Lest we forget, in the biggest NBA game of the last decade, the Spurs handled the Pistons in the type of game that Detroit is supposedly built for. In deciding games between San Antonio and Detroit, the Spurs are 1-0, and the Pistons are 0-1. |

If we had won, they would be in there for sure. Horry's shot allowed us to move one win from a Championship. We lost game 6 and pulled out game 7. Sean's shot could have missed and in a 1-1 series, Spurs still would have prevailed. |
