bigs idea

with the lakers being over the luxury tax by 10-15 million already. there are rumors they might not beable to bring lamar odom back. so what if we traded finley for a futur draft pick and saved the money and take the MLE and some of what we got from finley and offer odom.

then go and sign johan petro for the LLE. sign arriston and marcus williams and james gist.

PG. parker, hil, mclinton
SG. mason, ginobli, harriston
SF. jefferson, gist, williams
PF. odom, mahinmi, bonner
C. duncan, petro, jaktovis

I would take Odom in a heart beat!

But from all the wire taps it looks as if Odom( being from NY and Ron from St.Johns) was one of the main reasons Artest chose the Lakers...if that's the case then I don't think he is going anywhere...

I would give Odom a 4 year deal on the spot if he is even has the slightest idea of leaving LA...but to be honest I dont think that's the case...

I would love to have Odom, but I don't think Petro is really a player and Jaktovis isn't coming any time soon (if ever). I believe Blair will be given the opportunity to backup PF. I liked Gist and Harriston's hustle, but I don't understand everyone's obsession with them. They are 11th and 12th men, not starters or 6th or 7th men.

As I had mentioned in the past about a possible free agent big man. The spurs have talked to Channing Frye. I got blasted for it by almost everyone here. But for the right price I'd take him. He has length too so that is a plus.

I wouldn't mind Channing Frye. The Spurs don't need a center (big) who will overwhelm the opponent, they need someone who will compliment TD and be able to board and defend. Big scorer is optional. His playing time in Portland was limited due to the other assets they have. We could probably get him on the cheap. And he's from Arizona which will make Sean Elliot happy.

There is no scenario (short of the Lakers agreeing to sign & trade him to SA, which won't happen) where we can offer Lamar Odom anymore than the $5.7 million MLE as a starting salary.

The Spurs could trade Tim Duncan away for a 2nd round pick to Memphis and STILL wouldn't have enough space under the cap to offer ANY free agent more than the MLE. Keep dreamin...

If Odom comes to SA, it's because he agrees to take a BIG paycut. Not likely...

This is very unrealistic. First, no one will take Finley in return for a future draft pick. Secondly, we are not under the cap whether or not Finley is on the team, which means the max we can offer is the MLE. Finally, adding all of those guys would be very expensive.
