Lot of discussion about who we could get/but who will we keep?

There has been much discussion on the boards on who we could get, but I would like to read opinions for who you think we will keep------

and why.

(skiping the known keepers such as Duncan/Tony and Ginobli as well as our new acquisitions)

I think the Spurs are at a point where no player like Bonner,Mason,Finely and even Hill are open for a deal if we can't land a big via Free Agency....

Out of all those players I would not mind any of them going if I was gonna get a Camby or a Chandler back in a deal...I just wanna win and I think the Spurs have shown that in the RJ deal...

Well, I've got Bonner, Mason, Hill and Finley all in our 2 deep:

Parker/Hill
Manu/Mason
Jefferson/Finley
MLE/Blair
Duncan/Bonner

With the exceptions being that Mahinmi may pass Bonner... and it's possible for Mason to start over Manu. I mean... 3 of those guy were starters last year (Mason, Finley and Bonner). Trading any combination of those guys will leave another hole we'd have to fill... hopefully without the MLE to use (if we've already used it on a big). I think we are done with trades and we just use the MLE to fill our last spot.

we cant afford ne more 3-1 or possibly even 2-1 deals our bench is suspect enough as it is. we have to pray we get rasheed or atleast a legit big type and probably mcclinoton to fill out the roster.Dont know if the team is gonna use the lle being their over the cap

Rasheed/bonner
duncan/blair/ian
jefferson/finley
mason/manu/mcclinton
parker/hill

that still leaves 3 possible spots,12thman and IR etc i guess with vet min to fill out the rest

If nothing really outstanding jumps from the woodwork, summer league looks to be a really huge opportunity for some valuable show and tell time for a lot of players.

You think he'd come to SA for just the mid-level exception, or would we have to trade Bonner, Finley, and Mason to get him? Maybe throw in Splitter's rights and a first round pick? And cash?

We're a little short on cash... think he'd come for the LLE... or veteran minumum?

If we don't get a big guy from free agency, I see the Spurs trading a combination of Finley, Bonner and Mason away to get one.

Play Ian at center and have Bonner back him up !!!! With Jefferson on board, we have another scorer, that will help. Let's move on!! Can't wait for the season to start. Go Spurs

Ian has yet to show his worth, it's kind of scary to be talking of him as a starter.

Well our team is still up in the air hopefuly after the Vegas camp this is what I am expecting:

C: Sheed/Bonner/Ian
PF: Duncan/Blair
SF: Jefferson/Finley/Gist
SG: Manu/Mason/McClinton
PG: Tony/HIll

That gives us 13 players and I don't know being over the luxary tax we would add another but that would be nice. Another big or maybe Nando if he plays and plays well at the PG postion. I also would love to get Herman from Detroit.

I realy hope that Anderson does well next week and earns a spot on the Toros I realy think he could be a solid defender for us in the future.

For the love of.... if Ian (unproven) is the starting C and Bonner coming off the bench...... wow that's horrid.

If we don't get a big in FA... then I see us trading for a big... and using MLE on whatever hole we cause with the trade

I think we keep all the guys we've got. I don't see any trades coming.

They'll probably try but no one will really want anything Spurs have left.

Let us see what happens, from some permutation of Gooden, Oberto, or Thomas and a mixture of the rooks. I really think that is where the answer lies, but who am I?
