Avery Johnson has emerged as the leading candidate to take over the Detroit Pistons now that Doug Collins has removed himself from consideration, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.com. Johnson had a successful run as head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, leading them to the playoffs in each of his four seasons and the NBA Finals in 2006, and also winning Coach of the Year once. He would be a good fit for the Pistons.
