Jefferson is much better offensively, his shot selection is better, he shots better, he goes to line often. Defensively, it would be Artest, but not by much. Artest is better value, but there is a reason Houston offered only one year and no team wants to pay him more than the MLE. He could be terrific for the Lakers, but he could also quit the team before the playoffs. |

you really wanna go against the defending champs who have 2 legit 7 footers and a 6'10 do-everything matchup nightmare, with 33yr old tim duncan and 2 rookies?! blair has a long wingspan - the lakers centers are 5 inches taller and have just as long if not longer arms. we can't possibly go into this season w/ these 3 alone as our frontcourt, which is why the importance of getting a quality big man like sheed is so important now. w/ sheed and the youngsters, we have a tremendous blend of traits each guy can bring - toughness, knowledge & experience, size, rebounding, defense/offense, and athleticism. I take RJ, though the price difference is tough to swallow. RJ plays with a lot more control. Artest suffers from bad shot selection a lot of times and he can be taken out of games mentally (though on the flip side his defense can take other guys out of the game also). For locker room chemistry, it's RJ hands down of course. You never know what you're going to get with Ron-Ron. |

Artest can do more to defeat the Lakers right where he is better than he could on any of the other 29 teams. As for the Spurs, I think in the long run team-wise RJ is a much better piece to the puzzle. The center problem Pop and company will find a workable solution to before the first of November. Oh, and regarding Sheed, we would still need a "burly banger" or two if we got him.

not only that, artest's body and strength, he could have easily played PF for us which would have helped out big time since we are so weak in the bigs department artest can run sg sf pf ; i mean maybe not optimaly, but if needed, he has the body to. jefferson is basically stuck at the 3 spot. but lets take what we have and keep going |

thats assuming Artest would even consider coming to the spurs..... RJ is the better investment, for the spurs because they could have waited for artest, and he would say no 9 out of 10 times. LAL has something 29 other teams don't, a ring. thats what sold out Artest. |
