Artest to the Lakers? (per his Twitter)

Obviously this guy loves attention, but take it for what its worth.

Lakers look like they were losing out on Ariza, focusing more on Odom.

How would the Fakers sign Artest? If they're getting him for the MLE damn! The Jefferson trade won't mean much if the Fakers get Artest and then Odom back.

It is, but he was just on the radio, from what I picked up.

Artest: "I'm just bsing with my fans on twitter right now"

But he could be really pushing to go to the Lakers. He is still a free agent. But hey, he could also end up in Cleveland for what its worth.

Artest is a nut job/attention junkie.

Yep. It's a possibility. Spurs would definitely want to keep pushing for Sheed until he's gone.

With the ego's, Phil Jackson health, etc. Lakers are going implode next year either way. The wolf at the top of the hill is never as hungry as the wolf at the bottom of the hill. With Artest it will just be worse. Key to the Spurs is not Artest or Fakers, it's getting a quality big man!

Ron, we know you like attention, but if you like steak as well, go to Charlie Palmer's at The Hotel at the Mandalay.

Or Ferraro's if you prefer phenomenal Italian. Best kept secret in Vegas.

After you have dinner, go ahead and sign with LA. I can't wait to watch you choke Bryant on national television. What you will do to that guy after about 40 games will make people forget all about Latrell/Carlesimo.

I'm not so sure Artest is that big of an upgrade last year.

during the postseason Artest's stats were:

37.5 minutes, (.394 FG%, .277 3pt%), 4.2 Ast, 4.3 Rbs, 15.6 Pts

Ariza's post season numbers were:

31.4 minutes (.497 FG%, .476 3pt%), 2.3 Ast, 4.2 Rbs, 11.3 Pts

Factor in Ariza played with 2 1/2 super stars compared to Artest being the first scoring option for the Rockets when Yao went out. Also played less minutes, made several clutch steals and was invaluable on defense.

Wait a second.
It seems a good addition, but maybe it wouldn't. Artest may destroy Lakers chemistry easily, Lakers is playing a gamble(which a defending champion shouldn't).
Moreover: Lakers biggest defect was their point-guard and they should upgrade that position. After losing Ariza, they forgot this fact and now they are making a panic move by getting Artest. Vujacic and Walton would step up while Ariza's absence but they've no PG waiting for help. That's why if they make Artest move, they should make another move for a PG trade

I'm still waiting for the first NBA free-agent to drop a dime on his real destination via Twitter before his agent, the general manager and sportswriters can.

Whoever this Ron Artest is, he is messing with people

He was at Lamar Odem's house playing pool.
He just signed with the Knicks for $12 million.
He just signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Then he lost his deal with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Circuit City offered him a deal. (FYI: they're out of business)

The Lakers may get better with Artest, not necessarily - because Ariza is improving and is already solid. Artest is not as effective defensively against fast swings as he once was, his offense was never so efficient and Phil Jax sometimes used Ariza to guard Parker.

On the other hand, the Spurs are improving dramatically. Last year our SF couldn't create his shot or defend much, with Jefferson that will change and he can shot too.

If the Spurs get to replace Bonner with 'Sheed talent wise would be right there with the Lakers. Pop IMO gets most of his players, in a sense that he doesn't need the same level of talent to beat Phil Jax.

The playoffs rotation of: Parker, Mason Jr., Jefferson, Duncan, 'Sheed + Manu, Gooden and Hill, won't be beat by the Lakers even if they resign Ariza or sign Artest, resign Odom and even improve at PG.
