Mavs Interested In P.J. Brown And Najera

Mavs Interested In P.J. Brown And Najera
21st February, 2007 - 12:55 pm
Daily Southtown/Denver Post -
The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in acquiring Chicago forward P.J. Brown.

"I haven't heard that, but it's an interesting possibility," said Brown, who added of the perks of a Cuban-owned team, "They got a great record and a nice locker room. They got lots of nice things there. I wouldn't have a problem with that.

"It's good to hear my name mentioned anywhere because it means that I'm wanted,'' Brown said. "I still got some game left."

According to sources that spoke with the Denver Post, the Mavericks are also interested in Eduardo Najera.

Najera? I guess they need more players to try and be overly physical in an effort to hurt the Spurs in retaliation for how Bowen plays. If you can't beat them, go get your own thug.

they want Najera back? Interesting. Let the Mavs tinker with the line up, they aren't broke right now, why fix it?

PJ Brown is a good defender.......could it be this would be a strategic move aimed at throwing a good defender at Duncan?

Austin Croshere makes good money, and is an expiring contract, which makes him attractive. He's definitely expendable.

I don't know, they already have Dampier, Diop and company to hack Duncan, why add another?

if it's true, it is somewhat odd you'd mess with something so good. but i can also see the mavs point of view. their true centers consist of diop, damp, and mbenga. 18 fouls and very physical bodies to throw at duncan, but on offense they're terrible. if you cheat of pj brown, he'll nail the open jumper. but i can't imagine why the bulls would want to part with him since their post scoring is already terrible.

They're not going to tap into their core to get PJ brown so if they can get him for guys on the bottom half of the roster they're not really messing with much. Truthfully, I think he could help them, and I hope they don't get him.
