All-Star Weekend to forget for Nuggets' Iverson

By Chris Tomasson, Rocky Mountain News
February 19, 2007
SAN ANTONIO - It wasn't an All-Star Game to remember for Allen Iverson.
"Just a bad day all around," he said.

Iverson missed Sunday's game with a sprained right ankle. He got sick during the weekend, and the car he was riding in to the game was hit from behind.

Iverson, who has missed eight of the past nine games, plans to return tonight against San Antonio despite some trouble cutting during practice Monday night.

But he's more worried about the stomach flu.

"I'm still sick," he said after practice. "I was throwing up before (Sunday's) game and at halftime. . . . I didn't even think I was going to be able to make it to the game."

Iverson sat on the bench in the first half before being given permission by the NBA to leave at halftime. He hasn't been able to get down food and said he has lost 10 pounds.

Because of illness and a 15-minute delay after the accident to wait for another car, Iverson arrived an hour before the game, missing the team photo.

Iverson regrets that, but said, "I don't think (the NBA) will fine me.",00.html
