Let's pray that the beatdown continues in the 3rd so the starters can rest up for Detroit.

If they can consistently get that kind of contribution from Elson, Finley, Vaughn, and Barry, this team is dangerous.

Spurs 107 Nets 82

February 13, 2007

The Spurs ignited in the second quarter Tuesday night building a big lead they would not relinquish on their way to a win over the Nets.

Up 26-22 after one, San Antonio began the second quarter with a dominating 20-0 run. The Spurs outscored New Jersey 33-16 in the period.

The Spurs big three had a big night. Tim Duncan led the team with 21 points, eight rebounds, and was a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line. Tony Parker scored 19 and was also 7-of-7 from the stripe while Manu Ginobil dropped in 14 and four assists. The team combined to shoot 53% in the game.

Vince Carter led the Nets with 18 points on 7-14 shooting. The Nets combined to shoot 39% from the field. New Jersey played without Jason Kidd who was nursing a lower back strain.

===============================

Spur of the Game

Tim Duncan spent more time on the court than any other Spur Tuesday night and that was still less than 30 minutes. He led his team with 21 points and was perfect from the free throw line.

==============================

The Buzz
The Spurs had the perfect response for their two-game slide. The team shined in several categories including 96% free throw shooting, 53% shooting, and a 41-34 rebounding advantage.

They now take the win directly to Detroit where they will finish the 13th back-to-back of the year. The Spurs have won the first game of a back-to-back nine times this season and are 5-3 on the next night.

==============================

Stat of the Game

20

There were plenty of good stats to choose from in the boxscore, but the Spurs' 20-0 point run to open the second quarter had a huge impact on the game.
