Eh, I don't think he could be any worse than a Melvin Sanders or Charles Lee or something... It's all just a matter of how much he thinks he deserves/if he's willing to sacrifice. His back problems didn't really help the matter either. I certainly wouldn't not-welcome him back. But who knows what the Spurs coaching staff/roster would think about a return. I'm sure Devin could get a better role and more PT elsewhere anyways. Maybe Denver? I think they could use some shooting guards.

I was down from Austin last Tuesday and ran into Devin Brown at Kennedy's on Blanco. He was playing blackjack next to me. That same night I ran into RC Buford at Stonewerks. I thought it was odd for a Tuesday night. Oh and Devin's pimpin a new Bentley Sport Coupe.

Devin was in the last year of his deal, paying him $2.6 million this year. According to HoopsHype.com, Golden State had 16 guys under contract, so I guess he was the odd man out. Good that he's driving the Bentley now, because if he doesn't get picked up soon, he may be trading that in on a used Taurus at this time next year. |

Our team already has 15 players under contract. Someone would have to be traded/waived to make room for him. Now I'm a fan of his and would like to see him play here again but chances are slim to none.

He can defend outside shooters and that will come in handy against teams like the Suns and Mavs. Waive Williams, I don't see him doing anything but freeing up cap space in the future and we could use a young athletic SF/SG that can play D and give Bowen some rest. He also knows the system |

A chance to pick up an athletic sg/sf for pennies that Knows the system, loves the town, is a crowd favorite, and is still available. What is not to like about that deal. Pull the trigger RC and POP! A healthy Devin would have had a good impact on the allas series. By the way Devin gets paid by GS no matter what. I also believe he can sign with anyone if no one claims him off of waivers. Anyone know for sure about that last part? I could not find it on NBA.com or Real GM. |

I thought we only had fourteen players signed, actually. Adding him would make us really deep in the backcourt. He's proven to be a pretty useful bench guy here. If and when we trade Williams or if he can't get the job done, having Devin Brown around would be pretty nice. |

i talked to devin around 10:30pm and he told me that the warriors were having a hard time finding a buyer for dun and pietrus so he was the odd man out. he also said his agent has been in contact with 4 teams they are heat, spurs, seattle and cavs. he said he would probably sign in 3 days. i asked him who the front runner is and he said the heat. he would love to come back to the spurs but he knows that pt would be tough. maybe next year when fin and barry are gone.

the other three mentioned teams are deeper on the SG spot, Devin would be the third stringer at all theses teams. only the Heat do not have a backup SG who is clearly better than Devin. but this doesn't mean that i would not take him back. but of course this means that Sanders, Melzer and Smith won't get the chance to get a roster spot. considering the fact, that the Spurs have more needs for a type of player like J.Smith, this move might hurt the Spurs overall. if Devin was a good rebounder for a SG, he would help in a small line up. but as we know, Devin is an average rebounder at best. btw. it's an interesting information, that the Warriors didn't find a taker for Pietrus. ok, he was a big disappointment in the world cup, but i thought that a player like him, still on a cheap rookie contract, should not be a problem to trade.
