Number of Back to Back games by team...

I did nothing scientific, but squinted through the USA Today and tallied the games for each team. I didn't break it down further like figuring out how many of these were back to back road games or road game then home game, or vice versa. I just glanced down the list and counted games.

Since the print was small, I might have missed some of them, but I think I am pretty close.

Here you go

TEAM # of back to back games
atlanta 20

boston 19

charlotte 19

chicago 20

cleveland 20

dallas 16

denver 19

detroit 22

golden state 22

houston 18

indiana 20

la clippers 19

la lakers 17

memphis 20

miami 16 Do the finalists get a break in the schedule because they were finalists?

milwaukee 22

minnesota 18

new jersey 20

new orleans/oklahoma city 23 :wow

new york 19

orlando 20

philadelphia 21

phoenix 18

portland 18

SAN ANTONIO 18

sacramento 22

seattle 20

toronto 19

utah 18

washington 20

Based on this information, the mean average b2b games per team is 19. So the Spurs are a little below average.

2 teams with 16 (Miami/dallas)
1 team with 17 (Lakers)
6 teams with 18 (Spurs in this group)
6 teams with 19
median
9 teams with 20
1 team with 21
4 teams with 22
1 team with 23 (NOK)

Yeah...that stuck out to me as well.

Would have to compare that to last years b2b games played for the Spurs and Pistons.

Spurs start the season with a Maverick-Cavaliers b2b. What an awesome beginning 2 the season! With Cavs Spurs First Home Game. ring ticketmaster.
Question are the mavs raising a Western Conf. banner on Opening Night?

then a day off and Spurs hit a road b2b

Now could you break it down to find out how many of these are home b2bs vs away b2bs for each team?

Also find out how many are home/away or away/home bsb!?

graph form will be fine!

Working from the schedule on ESPN.com, Spurs have SEVENTEEN Back-to-Backs. I have seen other people count 18, so correct me if I am wrong.

These are

11/2 at Dallas 8:00 PM 11/3 Cleveland 8:00 PM (A/H)
11/5 at Toronto 1:00 PM 11/6 at New York 7:30 PM (A/A)
11/14 at Houston 8:30 PM 11/15 Charlotte 8:00 PM (A/H)
11/19 at Sacramento 9:00 PM 11/20 at Portland 10:00 PM (A/A)
11/26 at Seattle 9:00 PM 11/27 at Golden State 10:30 PM (A/A)
12/10 at LA Lakers 9:30 PM 12/11 at LA Clippers 10:30 PM (A/A) (No travel)
12/13 Minnesota 8:00 PM 12/14 at NO/Oklahoma City 9:30 PM (H/A)
12/22 Houston 8:00 PM 12/23 at NO/Oklahoma City 8:00 PM (H/A)
01/2 at Cleveland 7:00 PM 01/3 at Minnesota 8:00 PM (A/A)
01/9 Portland 8:00 PM 01/10 at Denver, 9:00 (H/A)
01/21 at Philadelphia 6:00 PM 01/22 at Boston 7:30 PM (A/A)
01/31 at Utah 9:00 PM 02/1 at Phoenix 10:30 PM (A/A)
02/13 at New Jersey 7:30 PM 02/14 at Detroit 7:30 PM (A/A)
02/20 Denver 8:00 PM 02/21 at Atlanta 7:00 PM (H/A)
03/2 Orlando 8:00 PM 03/3 at Houston 8:30 PM (H/A)
03/5 at LA Clippers 10:30 PM 03/6 at Portland 10:00 PM (A/A)
03/25 at Seattle 9:00 PM 03/26 at Golden State 10:30 PM (A/A)
04/15 at Dallas 1:00 PM 04/16 at Memphis 8:00 PM (A/A)

(All times Eastern)

H = Home
A = Away

As I see it, there are
ZERO Home/Home B2Bs,
ELEVEN Away/Away B2Bs
TWO Away/Home B2Bs
FIVE Home/Away B2Bs

Essentially, only ONE of the B2Bs doesn't involve travel (away to Lakers and Clippers in December). All sixteen of the other B2Bs look in danger of being let-downs due to travel-weary legs, stiff backs, etc.

If there is any good news it is that (based on last year's standings) only a handful of the 2nd-night opponents should be real challenges. Cleveland, Clippers, Phoenix, Detroit, and maybe Houston and Denver should be tough. New York, Charlotte, Portland (twice), Golden State (twice), NO/Oklahoma City (twice), Minnesota, Boston, Atlanta, and maybe Memphis not so much. (Then again. we know from beatings by Hawks etc from last year what that is worth.)

That's just my rough analysis. Please add more detail...

Thank you for the break-downs. At first I thought the league was out to get us with 18 b2b's, but there's only 17 and most teams have more. If I'm one of the teams with more than 20...i'd be ticked.

WHY is the league doing this?? Players are going to be more fatigued and injury prone IMO. With all the changes the league is making, why don't some good rule changes occur like cutting down to 2 refs/game...hey, it would save the league $.

Do you have those #'s? We had 16, right?

From my mental history the weaker opponents are usually the ones that end up biting the SPURS in the uhmmm
On b2b or even road trips hmmm that reminds me whats our RODEO ROAD TRIP?

plus i hope they raise their WC banner i agree that could only help the Spurs on oppening night.

You missed one of the back to backs. There are 18 total for the Spurs.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 9
Portland at San Antonio, 8:00

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10
San Antonio at Denver, 9:00

Thanks for spotting that. Have updated my earlier post. That's one more home/away split, with more travelling...
