Anybody else curious about...

how long it's taking Al Harrington to get a deal?

No team has cap money, except Charlotte and they're not interested, so teams like Indy and GS know that Al is at the mercy of S&T, without which he could theoretically get stuck with MLE.

So why should Indy or GS offer him $9-10 million? They seem to have the leverage. Also, why offer high-quality players, by the same logic, if no S&T happens then what does Harrington do next year but play for MLE?

And from Atlanta's point of view, he can't dump them for nothing because there are no teams with cap money, so if they do him the favor of S&T there's no way they take bad contracts or crap players.

So he's at everyone else's mercy: without teams under the cap, there's no incentive for GS and Indy to give him fair market value, and no pressure for Atlanta to dump him for less than market value.

So maybe everyone's waiting for August when the Spurs can trade EWilliams, Barry, and rights to Scola for big Al. Atlanta gets promising European big man, smart veterans with short contracts. Spurs get Derrick McKey-type that Pop wants, with more athleticism, versatility to go big or small, and future Bowen replacement.

Atlanta is just trying to decide who they want for Harrington and their options are better than anything SA could offer.

JamesR, have you seen him play? doesn't sound like it if you think he's as much a SF as Malik. he is absolutely a combo forward.

Aint happening. Besides, how would Atlanta try to get AI without offering Harrington?

I'm beginning to think you've never seen him play. I'm not saying he can shut down T-Mac, nobody can. I'm saying he can play SF, check out every reference to him anywhere, he can play both forward positions.

Dude is a PF much more than a SF.

Before his knee surgery he was much more of a SF and quite possibly the player you want. Too slow laterally now.

Anyhow, it doesn't matter. He's coming back home...
