Other quick-trigger moves: MIKE PRICE Fired as football coach at University of Alabama in 2003 before coaching a single game. News reports claimed he had paid for private dances at a topless bar in Florida. BRYAN TROTTIER Fired by New York Rangers GM Glen Sather in January 2003, 54 games into the season. Rangers were league's highest-paid team but were last in the Atlantic Division. JERRY TARKANIAN The long-time college coach was fired as coach of the San Antonio Spurs in 1992 after a 9-11 start. I had repressed all those memories of the Jerry Tarkanian era and now they're back. Most of those memories center around a central image of Tarkanian sitting on the bench with a bewildered look on his face which can be summarized by the statement "crap, those guys are just as good as my guys, now what do I do?"
