Do any of you know Google well enough...

...to know how to link a word to a web page? For example, if the Mavericks blow the series, I naturally would like to be able to Google the word "choke" and have www.dallasmavericks.com be the first site listed. And while we're at it, maybe Mark Cuban's www.blogmaverick.com listed if I searched for the phrase "zero championships".

I think it would be the right thing to do. Just a contribution from us at Spurs Report to the information super highway. So if any of you have knowledge on how to do it, maybe you can share so we can all participate? Any thoughts?

I was thinking the same thing. He must be consoling himself by flogging his blog.

that sounds like a funny idea but it might be funnier if you reverse it, so that when someone googles Dallas Mavericks the first site to pop up is some website about choking. just a thought.

After the Super Bowl two years ago, Sportspickle.com pointed out that if you search Google Images for "international sign for choking" that the logo of the Philadelphia Eagles came up.

Don't know how they did it, but it was as funny as hell.

Yeah, I think that's the way to go.

That's pretty much where I got the idea from. I don't know enough about how it was described by Wikipedia to do it. Can anyone make it happen? If the Mavs blow the sries, of course...

True.

I thought I was watching myself trying to get out of tree trouble at the local country club. Unbelievable that someone with serious $$$$ riding on his decisions would make such amateur choices.

You've gotta hand it to golf, it's a sport where rules and officiating RARELY IF EVER come into play. It's all about skill, and a little about luck.

The way I understand it, you need a bunch of people with websites to create a link to a certain page using the search terms you want to bomb.

Yet it's still boring as hell. And not really a sport.

I'm reminded of when my wife was watching me hit at the driving range, and after a few particularly bad shots, I invited her to give it a try. After about three attempts, she exlaims "hey, this isn't as easy as you'd think."

Not a sport ... ha. And yet it consistently draws more viewers than the NHL.
