I know there is a thread already that is devoted to possible off-season moves. I guess my question is more devoted to the current roster. We know NBE is retiring. We definitely need to get younger--more athletic. I don't know if Scola is the answer. There must be some stud athletic, quick players who don't get any attention because they play on losing teams. Or are there any within grasp in the college ranks? All I know is that I am depressed as hell today. Last night's game was the kind of game the Spurs have built a reputation on for winning. Keep the core--get younger. Quick. No more older players looking for a ring, either. |

Thought we won the most games in franchise history this year? Thought we did it with a bunch of injuries that hampered the teams effectiveness? Getting better is always nice but simply adding Beno to the mix instead of NVE and a pair of healthy feet on Duncan could push the team towards 70 wins next season. As for the playoffs, perhaps a better game plan would have made all the difference? |

this team's one of the older ones in the league, but that's cuz we're built for winning RIGHT NOW while duncan is in his prime. cuz honestly, he is the only one that's vital for the chamionship. but w/ so many vets, i think we can afford / need some youth and athleticism - fresh legs off the bench who run hard and play energetic defense. and by need i only mean like 1 or 2 guys. bruce is 35, and while he's showing no signs of slowing down, a young back up stopper to give him a breather and learn from him would be incredible. but how many young players in the league take lower paychecks & fewer mins to win a ring? it doesn't happen if they've made a decent name and can earn more $. i feel like as much as i want jared jefferies, we're gonna have to rely on the scouts and the coaches to bring in an unproven prospect and make him a real player. it's doable, but i kinda feel like it could come from an unlikely source we might not consider. |
