Obviously not. DRob would abuse any of the Mavs big while Nowitzki would be forced to stay with Tim. Or the other way around. Definite advantage for the Spurs. Plus even in his last few years, David was lighting quick on D. Nazr and Rasho, not so much. :-p

DRob even in his 40s can still play better than Rasho and Nazr combined. But then Pop would still put him on the bench whenever our rotation allow us to. That's because he's completely obssessed with small ball right now. Just like he didn't run plays for DRob before he won't run plays for him now, and so he'll be on the bench.

Well, the situation in 2003 wasn't all that dissimilar. Mavs had Raja Bell as a starter, and Tim was supposed to guard him but pretty much left him alone. He bagged quite a few open jumpers but he didn't drive to the basket, and the Mavs didn't look for him all that much, so the Spurs got away with it. DRob was still very quick in his last year, so he would have better success against Dirk or Howard than any of our current bigs, Tim included. Malik would also see time since he's 6'7". The key point is that both of those guys could guard multiple positions. That is not true of Rasho and Nazr.
