Please recommend a good but cheap hotel close to the ATT Center

For the first time ever I somehow won the ticketmaster lottery and managed to get a pretty damn good ticket to game 7. I'll be driving in from Houston, but unlike in the games I went to in last years finals, I no longer have a house in Austin that I can crash at after the game, so I need some recommendations for Hotels near the river walk that aren't too expensive.

Near the Riverwalk that aren't too expensive? Good luck. If I were you, I'd look for a La Quinta out on the loop or something.

Nothing good right near the arena. Plenty of options along I35, within a 10 minute drive.

Look for hotels right off of I-10 between AT&T Center and Foster Rd. I know there is one right around there.

Ok good idea. I guess I'll need to find something a little farther away since I can't afford an expensive hotel room.

I would suggest something on I 35. Probably around the walzem, eisenhauer and rittiman exits. Thats about 10 min. away from the arena.

Yeah, there are some very affordable but nice La Quinta's in and around that area.

There are a couple of hotels near Sunset Station. You can take the Aldaco's shuttle to and from the game and walk to your hotel. I think there might be a La Quinta

I agree with this.
If you are coming in from Houston on IH 10, then take Loop 410 North (a right). Within two miles or so, 410 merges into IH 35 North (going toward Austin). Immediately after this merge, and the first exit, is Rittiman Road. You will see plenty of nice, but cheap motels all along the East side of the highway. Also plenty of restaurants there too.

there is a best western off of commerce in sunset station. I would check there, it is close to downtown and you could take the shuttle to the game from your hotel. If it is too much then I-35 is best.

Thanks guys. I booked a room for a good price at America's Best Value Inn & Suites online which according to their site is less then a mile from the ATT Center. I can't wait for monday!

Yes, I would agree with most people here. That is the best spot. Take I-10 west to 410 North and get off at Eisenhauer. There should should be low-priced hotels there.
