I think Nazr is out and the Spurs will bring Scola

Spurs will let him test the free agent market and think about bringing him back if he doesn't get an offer above veteran minimum. When R.C. Buford reflects on the contract that Nazr turned down last summer, I'm sure he thinks, "There but for the grace of God..."

i think portland? or chicago might make an offer higher than what the spurs think his worth is. I dont see the spurs paying $10+ million for 2 centers who have been big bodies for the most part. I do think its an area we have to address next year. Rebounding is an issue.

I expect Nazr to be gone. I wouldn't be surprised if both Nazr and Rasho were gone next year. I strongly suspect the coaching and FO is sick and tired of getting such little production out of the centre slot. I am confident that we will see Javtokas next year. I would love to see another body in for Rasho as well - Steven Hunter (need to trade w/philly) or Joel Pryzbilla (FA, possible sign and trade with Rasho to Portland?) might both be options to explore.

prizbylla I expect to be out of our market possibly. Chicago has cash this summer. THey're gonna address their center issue(s). pryzbilla I think is also foul prone. he likes to swat at a lot of shots. I'd like to get that center out of atlanta though. Hunter would be a decent backup center. I expect Rasho to be here most likely. Not sure how much Hunter makes.

I don't know if he can play the 4 or not, but if he could I'd love to see the Lakers pick him up. He can block some shots and board for us, which is all we need from him if Kwame can keep playing the way he finished this season.

In my opinion, Nazr will resign or won't resign with the Spurs. There are two more accurate ways to ask this question: A) Will Nazr resign with the Spurs or won't he? B) What do you think Nazr will do this summer? Didn't mean to offend, just having a bit of fun. And to really answer your question, I happen to think he'll be gone.

Nazr is a gonner unless no one else shows interest. Spurs will bring in someone else- possibly even Scola, but the problem there is that you get smaller with Scola. They really need to shore up that front line with some thugs. Scola can be thuggish, but how tall is he? He's a tweener like Malik, no?

Scola's an undersized PF...Certainly not a replacement for Nazr. Though, I would welcome bringing him in, and it would force Timmy to play more minutes at the 5 spot, I think we would also need to bring in one of our other European bigs (Javtokas or Mahinmi for grooming purposes) or sign another serviceable big who can play minutes at the 5 behind *cough* Rasho.

Seeing as how they're stuck with Rashole, I would say that Nazr is probably out. Maybe they are planning on giving Oberto some playing time next year, he really isn't as bad as he seems. Lots of hustle, high in awkwardness though.

Remember that shot of him trying to take TP's head off at the same time as pulling on Rasho's shorts from game 1. If you look at the box score and the play by play, that wasn't called a foul. With the ref looking right at it (you can see the ref in the photo). |
