Beno is a good young player that had some issues as a rookie in the finals against one of the best defenses around

he should play more

Tim's been incredible but he needs to get help from the rest of the team. He will not win this game for us alone. I'm waiting for the rest of the team to wake up now.

The whole team is playing below average, except for Tim, so being down six would seem like its not a big deal except Dirk hasn't really had a big game and you have to think he'll come out aggressive in the next half. Our guys have got to step it up!

Halftime

Dallas 52
Spurs 46

Mavs FG 48%, 24rebs
Spurs FG 41% 18rebs

Spurs D must step up in the 2nd half

Half time 52-46 Mavs. Timmy's got 20 pts 5 reb NO FOULS. All we need is Manu or Tony to explode in Q3 and we'll get the W!

Come on Spurs, We can do this!

I think they should try a zone on the mavs. You have guys like terry, stackhouse, howard, daniels....they aren't shooters per se, but they love to put the ball on the floor and go from there. Take away that option, make them take the open shot. The only one that should be allowed to put the ball on the floor is dirk.

Of course, genius poppavich will still put tony and nve on dirk...so why bother saying anything?

I think the Spurs need to stop disrespecting Stackhouse. The Spurs likely have a half time lead if they didn't give Stack so many open looks. Where is the defense?

We're in a good position I think. TD looks great, and Pop will make second half adjustments.

i'm just saying that pop's stubborness hurts the team. also, i really think rasho or nazr should start. i do not like horry as a starter. he'll run out of gas too fast and those big shots he normally hits in the 4th quarter will come up short (see 2003 western conference semis)

Yo mavs fan, I think Pop knows how to coach, he's won 3 championships, how many do the Mavs have?

yeah i've been here how long rooting for the spurs?

i'm just stating the obvious. if it wasn't for ducan's heroics right now, we're down double digits. adjustments must be made.

championships aren't won by coaches alone, and don't make coaches infalliable

in wins? titles? who would you rather have coaching the team?

I think Pop makes good adjustments and is among the best at in game adjustments actually. he isnt pefect but is the best coach in the NBA. typical Spurs fan. Is it pops fault others outside Duncan are not shooting well?

im in no way dogging pop's coaching, and yeah 3 titles is impressive...but sometimes his stubbornness can hurt the team. I think that's a pretty fair assessment.

as for adjustments, let's see how things roll in the 2nd half.

yet you claim he hurts the team. hilarious. Pop's coaching wasnt why SA is down at the half. it was because Duncan was the only player on his game.

Looks to me that Avery's decided to let Timmy get his and challenge the rest of the Spurs to score.

Spurs look a step slow.

I really like the adjustments Avery's making. Managing to stay in the game despite all the foul trouble on his bigs.

Spurs need to start moving the ball. Parker's coming alive. Now Manu needs to join him. I got a gut feeling (if this stays close) that Mr Barry will have something to say about things in the 4th quarter.

end of 3rd, Mavs up 72-71. Dirk's having an off night (can't even make free throws!) and TD is kicking ass.
This is a golden opportunity, give the ball to Timmy.

We HAVE to win this.
