The only ones who have beaten us in the playoffs since then is the trio of Shaq, Kobe, Phil and and the occasional Horry/Fisher.

I don't see any of those names on Dallas' roster. This is the year we put "Dynasty" back on the front covers.

lol, Yeah, I have that one too. I think they figured we would have made our run while the Lakers did, but better late than never.

Agreed.

Since winning his first NBA Championship in 1999, Tim Duncan has only lost playoff series to the Lakers combo of Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. Those two have been the one constant thorn in his side and the last time i checked.......that combo doesn't exist anymore.

The Detroit Pistons will make a formidable opponent in the 2006 NBA Finals, but in reality they are the only ones with a legitimate shot at unseating the Spurs this season.

It's still a bit of a thorn in my side that if it weren't for a bogus shot being allowed, we could easily be talking about a FOURTH instead of second title in a row. *Prepares for flaming*

Didnt the issue of SI, after the 05 title, right on the cover say

"DARE WE SAY DYNASTY?"

that was killer.

It is somewhat funny to me that less than 11 months from the Si cover proclaiming the Spurs a dynasty, many at Si.com think the Spurs are a little long in the tooth and on the downward slope.
