7. Indiana 24.5 8. Philadelphia 25.5 9. Chicago 26.0 10. Boston 29.0 Seems like Indiana and Philly keep dropping games. Chicago is 50/50. Indiana 35 38 .479 24.5 22-14 13-24 6-9 19-25 Lost 5 2-8 Philadelphia 34 39 .466 11.0 21-16 13-23 8-5 18-25 Lost 1 3-7 Chicago 34 40 .459 26.0 18-19 16-21 4-12 23-21 Won 3 5-5 Boston 31 43 .419 14.5 20-16 11-27 9-3 17-27 Won 1 4-6 Personally, I could see both falling out, but unless Boston makes a seriouis run, it won't happen. A few weeks ago I didnt think Chicago could even make the playoffs, but considering how they're playing versus philly and indiana's slide. I could see Chicago climbing to #7

Indiana (5 straight losses) and Philadelphia (lost 11 of the last 15 games) are falling apart, while Chicago, helped by Nocioni's recent strong performances, is on the rise (winning 5 out of the last 6 games). Here's the remaining schedule for all three teams:
Of all three, Indiana has the easiest schedule, by far. Regardless of how much they may be sucking right now, they have best roster of all three as well, so with that in mind, I think they'll make it. Ultimately, I think it comes down to the Sixers and the Bulls. Both have similar schedules, facing Miami, New Jersey (the Sixers twice), Washington and Orlando, and in one case Boston and Charlotte, and in the other Toronto and Atlanta. In the end, I think it comes down to their own 2 games series. If either team comes up on top, they'll make it. If not, it's a coin toss. In any case, it should be perhaps the most interesting of fights remaining, as it's status changes by the minute it seems. |

I'd love to see the Orlando Magic pull off a miracle and make the playoffs. Philly and Indiana will problably do their best to fall out of the bracket, but they'll problably be able to hold off Chicago.

Philly, everyone knew they were going nowhere this season. But if you're a Pacers fan, this has got to be yet another nightmare season of disappointments. Wouldn't they be better off just tanking the rest of the season and going for the lottery? I mean, this tactic has worked for some teams in the past...(heh heh).

I write for Basketball News Service on the Sixers (www.hoopsworld.com) and last night was terrible - see story on site. No effort, and except for Iverson and Webber no production. Iguodala could not slow down James and Gooden played like a superstar. Sixers may well miss out - 2 games with Bulls this week. |

Indiana will make it. They will be above .500 the rest of the way and that will be enough. Probably 6-3 if you consider they'll play lottery teams with nothing to fight for (all but Detroit) and have 2 NY games ;). Sixers and Bulls games will be the key. I say the split games. But Chicago make the playoff. Record: 7. Indiana 6-3 ---> 41-41 8. Chicago 4-4 ---> 38-44 9. Philly 2-7 ------> 36-46

I think Philly will lose out on the 8th seed. But what difference does it make in the playoffs because the 7 and 8 seed will most likely not advance anyway.

Fred Jones gets back, Tinsley is out again. Like clockwork, baby. Wouldn't be the Pacers if they weren't brittle. They should miss the playoffs, but they'll get the 8th, because they suck.
