Radmanovic traded to Clippers

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ar...vic_for_wilcox

14th February, 2006 - 6:07 pm

Press Release - Clippers Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor announced today that the team has acquired forward Vladimir Radmanovic from the Seattle SuperSonics in exchange for forward Chris Wilcox.

“Vladimir gives us versatility and he fits very well into our system,” Baylor said. “He’s agile and he runs the floor well. We see him playing multiple positions and his outside shooting will stretch the defense and be a big positive for our inside players.”

Radmanovic, in his fifth NBA season, has career averages of 10.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. The 6’10” Radmanovic is averaging 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 23.2 minutes per game this season. He set a new career-high with 30 points at New York on January 8, 2006 and is shooting a career-best .887 from the free throw line this season.

The Clips are going to be an interesting team to watch during the playoffs (for the first round, anyway).

Oh man, Chris Wilcox was good for that team. Not sure what to make of this trade yet.

Wilcox was playing without any heart, and everybody in the organization knew it. They really wanted a big that could shoot and free up things for Brand and Kaman, and they got just that.

I like this trade. Wilcox is one of those hustle interior type guys, who the Sonics need if they're to trade Reggie and Collison.

Clips didn't use Wilcox much, and he got lazy. Radmanovic can play well beside either Kaman or Brand as he doesn't clog up the lane on offense.

The Clips have talked about a trade for a long time already and it was about time they made one! Anyone think there are more to come?

Good trade for both teams. Clippers needed a shooter and they got one. The interesting thing will be if either reups at the end of the year. I think they are at the ends of contracts.

Wow, one of few trades where you can say it's pretty much even and it filled a need for both teams. I think both teams are better off after this trade.

Well done

This trade might've locked up a playoff spot for the Clips. Nice to see that the best NBA team in Los Angeles doesn't wear Purple and puke yellow, gold, or whatever they call it. The Sonics might as well join the race for the summer lottery... not that Wilcox is a bad get, but he's not enough to turn the Sonics season around.

Steal for the Clips if Radmanovic can regain his old form.
