BOGANS OUT, ELY PROBABLE: The Bobcats anticipate Melvin Ely playing tonight, for the first time since spraining his right ankle New Year's Day. That's a big plus, with the Bobcats hurting for big men. Shooting guard Keith Bogans has a right knee sprain and is out tonight. The Bobcats gave no indication how long he might be out.

GINOBLI'S ANKLE: Spurs star Manu Ginobli is out, probably for another week or two, after twisting his right ankle when he stepped on the foot of Miami's Udonis Haslem. Robert Horry is out with an abdominal strain.

PARKER THE PROBLEM: As great as Tim Duncan is, the Bobcats' biggest problem against the Spurs has been point guard Tony Parker. He's quick on the screen-and-roll, constantly getting to the rim. He averages 19.6 points and 6.0 assists.

Seems like Pop trying new rotation tricks to fix that back-to-back issue in the first game of 2. Seems to be working out well as guys like Beno, Nazr and Fabrizio get confidence

Robert Horry was out for the fourth straight game. Nick Van Exel started at guard in what has been Manu Ginobili's usual spot.

On what turned out not to be a big deal, Tony Parker was hit in the face by a rebound as the Spurs were warming up about 11 minutes before game time. He stopped shooting and stood by himself near midcourt for a few minutes. Teammates Van Exel, Tim Duncan and Udrih went to check on him.

With about nine minutes left before game time, Parker went into the tunnel toward the locker room. He returned just before tipoff.

Good game but I think any of the top 5 college teams could have beaten this banged up Bobcat bunch. I just hope Tim and the rest of the starters have their legs tomorrow.
