Your point is well taken, but most of the people who are "upset" over this are being sarcastic. No one with any common sense should be worried about our pre-season record.

Ok, first of all, there is no need for the yelling (all caps?!?). And even tho u are yelling, i kinda agree. i have my mom (who claims to be number one fan) complaining to me that pop doesnt know what he's doing, that this isnt good for the team. Its only preseason people. the only worries i have is, well i wont say cuz i dont wanna jinx.

I THINK I UNDERSTAND WHAT HE'S SAYING.

AND I THINK EVERYONE AGREES WITH HIM.

I JUST THINK THAT THERE'S REASON TO SHOW JUST A LITTLE CONCERN IF SOME PLAYERS AREN'T EVEN GETTING IT DONE IN PRESEASON, BUT THAT'S JUST ME.

OK!

GOOD!

PRESEASON DOESNT MATTER, WE GET IT!

Are you kidding? This 0-3 preseason record kills any chance of us making the preseason playoffs to get to the NBA Preseason Finals and winning the preseason championship. Duncan is once again denied his preseason championship ring.

1) FIRE POP THREAD IS A BIG:JOKE

2) ALOT OF YOU ARE OVER-REACTING BECAUSE OF THE 0 - 3 RECORD.

3) PRESEASON IS MEANT TO GET THIER NEW PLAYERS AND NEW FREE AGENTS
TIME ON THE COURT TO PLAY AND SEE WHO IS GOING TO MAKE IT OR NOT.

4) SPURS ALLREADY HAVE THIER STARTING LINEUP, POP KNOWS WHAT HE IS
DOING OUT THERE.

5) TO SEE SPURS FANS IN HERE ALLREADY ASKING FOR A "FIRE POP THREAD"
YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, HE IS THE BEST COACH IN THE NBA IN MY OPINION,
3 - NBA TITLES ALLREADY, ALWAYS HAVING A WINNING RECORD, WHAT
MORE DO YOU WANT.

6) ALOT OF YOU ARE TAKING THIS PRESEASON TO SERIOUS, LEAVE POP ALONE,
I BET YOU, THAT WHEN THE REGULAR SEASON STARTS, WE WILL BE FINE
AND WE WILL BE BACK IN THE FINALS AND WIN IT.

7) AND IF YOU ARE A TRUE SPUR FAN, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT OUR SPURS
DO START OFF SLOW IN THE PRESEASON.

SO IN MY FINAL THOUGHTS: INSTEAD OF ALWAYS TALKING: TRADES, FIRE POP,
OR ANY OTHER THREADS THAT DOWN MAKE ANY SENSE.

THIS IS THE TIME TO UNITED AND SHOW IN HERE
OUR FULL 100%%%% SUPPORT FOR OUR 2004-2005
NBA CHAMPIONS, AND CHEER THEM TO VICTORY EVERY
GAME DURING THE 2005-06 SEASON AND INTO THE
POSTSEASON AND NBA FINALS.

A few years back, Pop was asked by a reporter why is it that San Antonio wins their NBA finals but not their preseason venues. He said that the preseason was not about winning but his oppurtunity to place certain players in situations and get a feel on how they do.

Spurs Preseason Past 5 Years

2000-2001 we went 1-3 ended up going 58-24(If preseason were reg. season, 21-61)

2001-2002 we went 5-3 ended up going 58-24(If preseason were reg. season, 51-31)

2002-2003 we went 5-3 ended up going 60-22(If preseason were reg. season, 51-31)

2003-2004 we went 4-4 ended up going 57-25(If preseason were reg. season, 41-41)

2004-2005 we went 4-3 ended up going 59-23(If preseason were reg. season, 46-36)

I know I just felt like throwing that out there. Besides it's kind of interesting.

it is just preseason. right now teams are trying to figure out what works. experiment with different lineups. however, an 0-3 start is embarrasing no matter what the situation. spurs need to play like the champions they are

give me a break. winning anything in preseason is meaningless. there is no embaressment. the Spurs have clearly been resting players anyway

Tell you what - if the Spurs are still playing Jawad-Freaking-Williams 32 minutes a night in the regular season, then come back and post. Otherwise...relax.

it doesnt matter. Spurs are playing scrubs big mins that wont even MAKE the team. buy a clue

it seems only people like Kings fans and Rocket fans around here actually think it does mean something

The Spurs could go winless in the preseason and it has nothing to do with the season. Pop wouldnt give a Sh!t either as long as they worked on things he wanted and there were no major injuries

Seriously, this might be the stupidest argument you've ever taken a side on, and that's saying alot. Pop doesn't care if we go freakin winless in the preseason. It's the PRESEASON. Exhibition, scrimmage, unimportant games. I can't believe you believe ANYONE in San Antonio should care about our record 2 weeks before our actual season even starts.

Sorry, but no. That would be the WNBA. If anything, I'd be kinda sad if my WNBA team had the same amount of championships as my team. Especially if NO one on the current squad has won a ring with them.

And about the division titles?

You're grasping on less and less with each post man. I expect a Peja Stojakovic back-to-back 3 pt contest winner post sometime soon.

why would i be sad? the WNBA is a professional league as well. besides the fact that more people watch the NBA what makes the spurs championship more important than the monarchs'?

what's so funny. i was asked when was the last time the kings won a title. and i answered 2 back to back titles 2 years ago. no one said anything about a NBA title

The conversation was about the Kings' titles in the first place. Having to bring up the WNBA, which has what, like 8 teams in the playoffs, shows your desperation.

I believe DizzG said, "wasn't 1951 the last title?" He obviously was talking about the NBA Title, which is all that matters anyways. I'm surprised you didn't catch that, since you seem so bright.

Seriously, this might be the stupidest argument you've ever taken a side on, and that's saying alot. Pop doesn't care if we go freakin winless in the preseason. It's the PRESEASON. Exhibition, scrimmage, unimportant games. I can't believe you believe ANYONE in San Antonio should care about our record 2 weeks before our actual season even starts.

so there you have it. or did you not catch it? dizz g made that 1951 comment after the fact.

That was your quote. Where in this thread does anybody ask you when the Kings won a title last? I certainly didn't.

It's like arguing with a freakin monkey; I give up. You win.

Here's a suggestion: Go put on your Pacific Division championship rings and Sacramento Monarchs championship T-shirt and visit KingsFans.com to talk about your team's accomplishments. Because you're sounding ridiculous posting that weak stuff on this board.

Someone else take over cause my head hurts.

well i don't know about you, but i personally have never tried to argue with a monkey. and i'm just answering the questions. you can't flip it any other way. in plain english (((((((and i quoted you by the way)))))))) you said "win a title" wich was the platform of our argument. you said nothing about an NBA title. you can't get upset; some people are just quicker than you are. yes, please refrain from posting. you should chose your battles more wisely.

why would i be sad? the WNBA is a professional league as well. besides the fact that more people watch the NBA what makes the spurs championship more important than the monarchs'?

what's so funny. i was asked when was the last time the kings won a title. and i answered 2 back to back titles 2 years ago. no one said anything about a NBA title

has he done it?

please... you knew what he was talking about... and again, preseason doesn't mean a thing. if it does to you, fine. i'm not concerned. we'll see how far sacramento's preseason wins get them.

You know, even if you were dense enough to believe that division titles were implied in his question, it doesn't really knock anybody's socks off that you can only come up with a couple of division titles for your team with no rings or even Finals appearances to show it. And please don't point to the Rochester Royals title, I can't take much more laughter. Your team's window closed shut in Game 7 of the 2002 WCF. Deal with it. Please quit now before you embarrass yourself even further.

Someone should develop a special preseason W-L ranking that takes into account factors like ratio of total injuries to player, severity of injuries, and importance of players injured.

it's gotten them a 1-1 record so far. 1 more than the spurs in the win column. aren't you a tad dissapointed that every team in the league has at least 1 win? maybe not. but i jumped in this thread with my 2cents. preseason isn't a real big deal, but the spurs shouldn't be 0-3. that was my opinion. forget everything else.

i beg to differ. a division title is still a title. why don't you just ask me am i trying to be sarcastic. you know there's a difference. a funny thing how the window term is always being blown up around here. windows close and windows open. that's what a window does.

If it isn't a big deal, then why do you make it sound like a big deal? Who cares if we're 0-3 or 3-0? How does it carry over to the regular season when our starters aren't even getting at the most 25 minutes and when our scrubs are getting crunch time minutes? Who cares seriously. Around June no one is going to remember our preseason record cuz no one cares.
