Pop Quiz...

Let's play Pop Quiz:

Here's one for all you wizards out there:

A current NBA player was nicknamed "The Goods" in his rookie season because -- and I quote, "he displays a full package of skills and a style of playmaking no one was ready for. He could score, handle the rock like a 5'10" guard and dish with the best of them" end quote.

If you have a pop quiz question, please feel free to add it.

I'll post the answer later.

that would be Lamar Odom

I think I got a good one.

We all know Greg Popovich is a wine connoisseur. There is a (cheap) winery that was actually founded by someone with the same name.

What is the name of the Winery?

Mike Dunleavy

In 1990 the Spurs made one significant trade during the offseason, picking up 6-foot-9 muscleman Antoine Carr from Sacramento for who?

The Big Dipper and Wilt the Stilt (which he reportedly hated).

An easy one, what was the original name of the team that became the SA Spurs?

I'm guessing the Iceman.

Before they played in California, what city and nickname did the Clippers have?

Buffalo, Braves

no an easy one,
David Robinson completed his tour of duty on May 19, 1989. Nine days later, the Spurs sent Robertson and Greg "Cadillac" Anderson to the Milwaukee Bucks for who?

The Kings were first formed as the Rochester Royals, then the became the Cincinati Royals, the Kansas City-Omaha Kings, hte Kansas City Kings, and the Sacramento Kings.

Sean Elliott was a the #3 first round draft pick by the Spurs in the 1989 draft. What 2 players (one a former Spur) were selected ahead of Sean in that draft?

Who had the 4th best scoring average for the season.

Original Colors
Quote:
The San Antonio Spurs are going back in time -- to the early 1970s to be exact. No, they won't be going all the way back to the Dallas Chapparals days, but they will celebrate five NBA Hardwood Classic nights with Silver Saturdays. On those nights, you can see the Spurs in their silver retro uniforms. Here we take a look back at some of the uniforms the Spurs have worn in their history.
i reckon you got the spurs and chaps mixed up.

The Spurs first appeared wearing the Chaps' red-white-blue color scheme. Those unis didn't last long (mostly the first pre-season), and I imagine that folks who collect such things would pay serious money for an original.

Which former Spur told the San Antonio Express that his defensive strategy against Dr. J was to foul hard and dirty because "that's what I do best"?
