Heaven Forbid

Heaven Forbid it happened, but say Tim goes down on the ankle wrong early in the season, considering he is center of our franchise, do you think well be able to pull through until he gets back?? would we go small considering our new talents, or go ahead and put in nazr and oberto togethor??

Now more than ever I think we have the depth to make it through the regular season without Tim. The Playoffs are another story. We dont get to the promise land without him IMO.

this current team can easily get into the playoffs with or without Tim. Of course, one is a number 1 seed, the other number 8. The playoffs, absolutely not. Perhaps one round, against a low seed. But I don't think a team without Tim Duncan can succesfully take on Phoenix, Dallas, Denver, and not a chance in hell against the best eastern teams. But something like this would affect any other team at least as much, so...

We don't win a title without Tim. Anything short of that is certainly possible with this team.

Duncan going down means they'd put up a valiant fight, but would probably lose.

Correction, Tim is the power forward of this franchise.

Given all the talent that this team now has, I would expect the Spurs would make the playoffs, even if Tim missed 75 games. However, they wouldn't get very far in the playoffs without him.

Then they break out the swim trunks and book flights to the bahamas.

IMO, we could make it out of the first round without Tim unless we get a really unusual match-up. This previous year, we would not have gotten past Seattle without Tim. IMO, of course.

We have no way of knowing until we see the three newbies' effect on the team chemistry. If this team meshes and plays as well as they should on paper, I believe they will be able to beat most any team in the league Timmylessly.

i ment the center, like the middle, like the base, like the main part of our franchise, not the position center.. im pretty sure i knew he was a PF... thanks though

Timmylessly=My new favorite and least favorite word simultaneously

Duncan means so much to the team that his absence should have it's own word

However even with the new roster additions the thought is scary

With all due respect...what is the point of the worst case scenarios? We're in obvious serious trouble.

I'm not busting anyone's chops but I just don't like these questions. Call me superstitious or whatever. Imagined or hypothetical Tim Dincan injuries serve no purpose IMO. It's bad enough as it is when they happen.

Now I've got to go find a four leaf clover, double my prayers, light a candle and rub my rabbit's foot to the bone.

What happen's if the Sun explodes during the Finals and the Spurs are up 2-0, should they get the LOB anyway? Should Tim get the MVP?

Robert Horry said this, or something like it, at the end of the Finals.."We only go as far as Tim is going to take us."

Getting to the playoffs is more than possible...
Getting out of it with the trophy in hand without Timmy is more than impossible..
