Finley's always been a low key type of guy, I think the Spurs "just business" approach without all the hoopla will go over very well with him. Will it be enough? Who knows?

Barry could run the point and Tony won't have to play so many minutes. Especially since he will be playing for France in September. I don't think the Spurs would want him to be having problems with that knee come playoff time.

LOL Devin is a much better player than Finley is now? Damn this board sometimes is funny. He is ALOT younger, has more upside now because we know what Finley can do, but come on now he has not had one great season yet and you are saying this? Come on now you guys. Long Term Devin is better, yes.

We have no need to worry about re-signing Devin yet. He hasn't sign an offer-sheet with any team yet. Remember we do have the right to match whatever offer he receives. Everyone needs to be patient, we'll be alright with whoever we end up with.

I think you are probably correct. If we sign Finley, either Barry or Rasho would be gone.

The reason has nothing to do with basketball talent. It is simply that the Spurs hate the idea of paying the luxury tax and really don't want to have to add more players at pay levels above the minimum. Of course, Finley is certainly worth $2.5 Million, if he'll come over, but this will force the Spurs to shed payroll elsewhere.

I like Devin along with everyone...

But Finely would be a great addition for us and keep him off some of the teams that will be gunning for us next year....

To me it would be a great siging for the Spurs if they got him.

I would take Finley over Devin 6 days a week and twice on Sunday. His age is not a significant issue. Our core is young. Our bench is supposed to be functional. Finley would add far more than Devin ever would. I don't hear anyone complaining about Horry's age!

The upside is that Finley will do more now and over the next 2-3yrs to help the Spurs win a championship than Devin ever would. This idea that Devin will help us down the road is non-sense. Devin will never be an all-star, he will never be a 20ppg scorer, actually, for the Spurs, he will probably never even be a starter.

And cost.. What would it cost to sign Devin? I'm thinking 2+mil a year for 3-4 yrs, same as what we can offer Finley.

This decision is a no brainer. It's FINLEY all the way.

Oh, by the way, Does Florida have a state income tax? That would put a serious blow to the idea of taking more money to go to Miami if they do.

Devin is my homey, but I mean Finley is a great shooter.....the guy will shoot atleast 43% from the three point line, and that will be HUGE come playoff time.

My Two Cents:

Sign Finley and we are absolute favorites to win two out of the next three championships, if not better. If rings ar your motivation, then San Antonio is the destination of choice. But I'd take Devin just the same.

We know it...Finley knows it...everyone knows it, but they dont want to say it...Mikes best fit for him is the Spurs.. He is obviously having a very tough time deciding between the 3...money probably is of no issue..if he truly wants a ring he knows where he needs to go..he knows its a perfect system for his abilities & playing style..its just that everyone would hate it if he joined the Spurs...I believe its a toss-up, & the Spurs are right there..lets hope this little recruiting trip convinces him to come to SA.

Oh come on. If you were a basketball scout and DB and Finley were both nameless individuals and the only info you had on them were they age, height, weight, etc. but saw them in a game you wouldnt select DB over Finley? As far as contributions to the playoffs...did you forget Finley's contribution to the Phoenix series, it was zip, nada. In two or three years Finley will be the current version of Gary Payton if not sooner. Some of you guys just look at name recognition and reputation. There is a reason why Dallas (Avery) cut him.
And comparing Finley to Horry, LOL, that is comparing oranges to apples. Horry has what five, six, titles, he has been in the playoffs his entire career. He has been in more playoff games than Finley been in regular season games.
We dont need DB to average 20 points a game (although I think he could definitely average double figures) with more playing time. Hell, Finley only avgd 13 points a game with 36+ minutes. Devin knows his role on this team. Would Finley?
