Shaq is full of such crap. If he is the great teammate and the great player he proclaims himself to be, he would have put his ego aside in LA and could've possibly earned more titles for that franchise.

Should work now. But it's Shaq related.

He's right...

He got firepower--only problem is they like to fire-at-will.

Should be interesting to see what happens for them next year. They'll be the biggest story ALL YEAR LONG.

Is it just me, or is Shaq a lot more likable now that he is in Miami?

Probably just me.

It's not just you. I've felt the same thing.

Nope. He's still a self-promoting jackass with the media feeding off of the crap spewing from his mouth.

dude you should be talking about kobe. shaq was obviously the man in LA, even if you wanna put it 51% Shaq, 49% Kobe, even then Shaq is the man. i mean i hate him, he is annoying, he is cocky, but he is GOOD. most dominant player to ever play the game. everywhere hes gone hes been a winner. cant say the same about kobe.

I never questioned Shaq's ability to play, nor Kobe Bryant's apparent cockiness. I'm just saying that my feelings for shaq will never change, reguardless of the jersey he puts on.

Thanks, Hec. I wasn't able to get the story up. Shaq is now a bargain at 20MM instead of 30MM a year so the Heat has had the cap room to land some nice free agents. He fared a lot better than Kobe last year and I expect the same result this season. What amazed me about the story is that Shaq held out for less than the Heat offered to help the team.
That's the "right way" to pursue contract negotiations since he's already put a little away for his retirement.

I actually think Shaq is extra motivated after seeing TD win his third ring and third Finals MVP. Third party observers can make a serious claim now that TD is the pre-eminent player of the post-Jordan era, and that surely does not sit well with the Big Bamboozle.

Shaq is more likable now, but it's all an act-- it's like his deal with D-Wade. D-Wade's not a jerk like Kobe, but Shaq is going over the top now to defer just to make Kobe look worse.

Basically, he doesn't make Wade look like an ass for taking over the game on a consistent basis because he's either too old or simply unable to do so every game. Shaq is a tool and pseudo-All-Star teams don't work. Look at the Lakers '04 and Houston '97. Both teams had nice regular seasons and did pretty well in the playoffs, but neither team could seal the deal. I doubt that the Heat '06 team are gonna fair any better.

Walker and Williams can do as good as they want, the success of the Heat will be decided by how healthy shaq is, and if last season was any indicator at all, then things are not looking good for the heat.
