hi i'm pretty sure this has been done before but I thought i'd give it a shot anyways. i was wondering what the overall consenus on what an all-spurs team would look like. I know for sure David Robinson, Tim Duncan, and George Gervin would have to be starters. Although i've been a fan since i was a kid, I can't honestly say I know who the best was without favoring heavily the most recent teams. David Robinson C Tim Duncan PF George Gervin SG Ginobili, AJ, Tony Parker, Sean Elliot and a bunch of others is whom i'd really like to hear from others as to who deserves to be on the starting squad and second team. |

C David Robinson F Tim Duncan F Sean Elliot G George Gervin G Manu Ginobili C Artis Gilmore F Dennis Rodman F Larry Kenon G Alvin Robertson G Tony Parker Manu isn't a pure point, but he sure as hell can play the spot. Besides All-Whatever teams always go 2 guards, 2 forwards and a center.

Are you serious? Would you actually leave Manu Ginobili (2 rings and counting) and Larry Kenon (20 pts and 10 rebounds per game) off of your All Spurs team in favor of Frank Brickowski, Alvin Robertson and Willie Anderson? What about Greg Anderson, Vernon Maxwell, David Wingate and Rod Strickland? WOW!!!! Quote:
Maybe Mike Mitchell (a true Small Forward) would have to get the nod..... if you are going to carry 2 centers, 2 PGs, 2 SFs, 2 SGs and 2 PFs. Quote:

My following the Spurs really begins in '89 although I've been watching the nba since 1976. Spurs history has to include IMO: SG Gervin PG Silas PF Kenon SF Mitchell C Gilmore From '89 PG AJ/TP (Tie) SG Ginobili SF Elliott PF Duncan C Robinson Reserves Cummings, Bowen off the top of my head...

I remember Rodman played PF most of his career but could he also play SF? Rodman, Duncan and Robinson would have to be the best defensive frontline ever, for guys that played on the same franchise at least. Rodman may have been a distraction on the Spurs, but Chicago doesn't win its last 3 titles without him. |
