Melo to appear in Congress?

I saw that someone posted an article about the DVD "Stop Snitching" in which Melo appears. Well, he may have to appear on Capitol Hill for something about witness intimidation.

ANTHONY TO CONGRESS? Forget the wetsuit-tight defense of the Spurs. Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony is feeling pressure from Capitol Hill.

According to The Washington Post, two congressmen want Anthony to testify at a hearing regarding his cameo appearance in an underground DVD that celebrates witness intimidation.

U.S. Reps. Elijah E. Cummings, D-Md., and Mark Edward Souder, R-Ind., made the request Monday, which Anthony's agent, Calvin Andrews, said "caught us off-guard."

"We don't understand it," Andrews said. "Carmelo's not an expert in witness intimidation."

Anthony, who was unavailable Tuesday for comment, began to hear criticism in the fall for Stop Snitching. The DVD features alleged drug dealers in Anthony's hometown of Baltimore who threaten to murder informants who cooperate with police.

Anthony, who does nothing inflammatory on the DVD, has said he was unaware about the video's content. He has agreed to take part in a violence-prevention campaign Andrews said should be finalized in the summer.

Cummings accused Anthony of wavering. "We're not blowing anything off," Andrews said. "We're working with the (Maryland) governor's office and Elijah Cummings' office to come up with a plan."

Anthony to Congress?
Drive for the THUMB!

Let's go Spurs!
