I hope it doesn't resort to this, however I commend some of the networks for showing the children's reactions to the fights. This is very important, and probally the sadest of the entire situation. We've all seen the old lady lying in tears, the small boy crying. A solution will be enacted to protect fans, but what would YOU propose? Personally, I would ban the players from the NBA for life if they entered the crowd and acted violently. This would be the strongest message, and wouldn't affect the overall fan experience for years to come. Also, a thing not mentioned allot is the fact that their WILL be a lawsuit against the NBA for failing to protect fans. In addition, some suites might even be directed @ the stadiums. I say that if the NBA has to enact extreme measures that ruin the game for fans, then fans should get involved in a class action lawsuit against the culprit. Your thoughts? I mention this because, the closeness of the players and fans is the foundation of the Basketball experience. |

I don't think its a lawsuit against the NBA as much as the individual organization responsible for security at that locale.

The sad thing is, the little boy's dad (might not be his dad, but a relative) is that fat guy in the gray shirt that was hitting Jones in the back of the head. I'd be crying if my dad was a coward too.

I don't know about barriers but there has to be more space between the players and the fans. At SPURS games I have seen SAPD sitting behind the players facing the crowd. Several times I have seen them get up and say something to the fans and even remove fans.
