Clippers Sign Rebraca

Posted: August 12th, 2004

The Los Angeles Clippers today signed free agent center Zeljko Rebraca. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. Rebraca, entering his fourth NBA season, has career averages of 6.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He has shot 50.8% from the floor and 77.5% from the free throw line during his NBA career.

“Zeljko gives us size, toughness and depth in the middle” said Clippers Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor. “He has low post skills and is a good mid-range shooter who played in a great defensive system with the Detroit Pistons.”

Rebraca joins the Clippers after beginning his NBA career with Detroit, where he played for two plus seasons before being traded on February 19, 2004 to Atlanta in a package for Rasheed Wallace.

Originally drafted by Seattle in the second round (54th overall) in the 1994 NBA Draft, Rebraca had his rights traded to Minnesota and Toronto before being acquired by Detroit on July 18th, 2001. Rebraca played professionally in Europe for 11 years prior to joining the Pistons, and was named the 1999 Most Valuable Player of Europe in FIBA competition. He had his most productive NBA season in 2001-02, when he averaged 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in helping the Pistons to a playoff berth.

Rebraca will wear jersey number 11 for the Clippers.

this wasn't a bad pickup to go along with kaman..the clippers may have a better team than the lakers.. imagine how good they'd be if sterling would spend is money on the team instead of the hooker.

I believe he had surgery last year (2003) for his heart rhythm irregularities. I'll have to look for the story.

Here:
August 8, 2003

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Detroit Pistons center Zeljko Rebraca underwent surgery for an irregular heartbeat Thursday, the team announced.

Rebraca, who is expected to join the team for the start training camp in October, had the procedure performed by Dr. Fred Morady at the University of Michigan Hospital.

The 7-foot, 257-pound Rebraca averaged 6.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in 30 games with the Pistons last season, including 12 starts. He was diagnosed with the irregular heartbeat in early January and the ailment forced him to miss 50 games.

A native of Yugoslavia, Rebraca posted averages of 6.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 74 games with Detroit as a rookie during the 2001-02 season.

When you describe someone's blood pumping muscle it is a "heart" not a "hart." A "hart" is a person that has potential but attaches its ass to a chair while non-Americans break down "zones-of-defense" and make large quantities of "dead presidents" making that "hart" obsolete.

Hope this clears things up.

Yeah. I didn't even noticed I wrote "hart". That's why I was like

It was a typo. Thanks for the correction.
