NBA Players Are Working 9-5 Jobs Since Retiring

Easily the strangest retirement choice on this list, San Antonio Spur legend Tim Duncan has been training as an MMA fighter since retiring. Currently, his training can only be considered a hobby, although his trainer is high on his potential, calling him “a monster” and “a legit contender.”

While he waits for his MMA career to begin, Duncan keeps plenty busy running BlackJack Speed Shop, an auto body shop he opened in 2013. In 2017, the shop helped organize the delivery of needed supplies to Hurricane Harvey victims.

**alh1020: I cut TD's story away from the article about retirees. You can read about the rest at the link below.

nice piece to learn that tim I still doing mma.

but wow. the title of the article is so deceiving and out of line from what it actually is.

makes it sound like all these players, and including Duncan, would be broke/bankrupt, and working 9-5 to survive.

while some of the players are working to put food on the table, tim and a couple others are simply just working and running businesses.

the title should be more like, ex-players working after retirement. no 9-5 like they are grinding to survive.

fake news deceptive media.

Since you brought it up, I'm thinking you're on the right angle that the author may have titled his piece that way to attract readers to his article. Deceptive as it is, it's working to some degree.
