The importance of Ginobili, Parker, Green, and even Pau

If/when we trade Kawhi, I think having Manu back for one more year, re-signing Parker, having Danny staying and having Pau become extremely important to integrating these new players into the Spurs system.

Thoughts?

I am okay with the idea of this, but not at the detriment of not being able to have talented, capable guys because the older guys are taking up too much cap space. Honestly, I would only be interested in Manu and Parker back. I am very skeptical though about Parker and what he believes he should be paid. We need his cap number WAY lower. Pau, I think his time has come where I wouldn't mind him being traded elsewhere at his cap number and finding a cheaper replacement.

Manu>Parker>Gasol

A lot of this will definitely depend on what the Spurs get for Kawhi. More players back with Kawhi leaving obviously means less spots on the team available.

Whenever you have rookies coming into the league at the NBA level, you need some kind of veteran presence to guide them. Rookies these days are on an average of just a couple years removed from high school and stepping into the world of high finance, product indorsements and a fast paced life style where people want to question you and want your money. A veteran presence to provide tutelage is valuable to any ball club for these kids to survive. And the Spurs have been lucky that Pop has always liked his team roster filled with veterans.
