Kawhi out for Game 2- Pop slamming Zaza

Saw Popovich just said Kawhi won't play. Doubtful same result as game 6 against Houston... But we will see

Now Popovich slamming Zaza

Doesn't look good. However remember We beat the bottle Rockets by 39. I know the Warriors are much better so maybe we can beat them by 1. Our game plan will be formed without Kwai. Last game included him and we still tried to go with the same plan after he went down. The Spurs need us know more than ever.....Keep the Faith

Now its just a mind game. Spurs had them on the ropes when Kawhi went out and the rest of the team couldn't maintain it. We will see if that changes early in this game.

Never in my 30 years of being a fan have I seen Pop so angry! I could tell he wanted to curse him/media out so badly. Took all the cover of his being to not. What's the over/under Zaza fouls out tonite?

Spirits are broken and don't think they'll get it back unless Kawhi pulls a Willis Reed. With a healthy Kawhi we win the series...without him, it's a total disconnection, cause they know they're not beating the Warriors without him. It was kind of like Houston in game 6. That block, that loss without Tony or Kawhi...Spirits were broken before they got to game six.

If they held on to game one...I think it's a total different scenario. Stole game one and give Leonard a few extra days off. Like one of my favorite songs, "Sad but true."

And I'm still not impressed! Especially for a chump like Durant. A bum that called our guy a system player...a guy that never says a word to anyone outside his teammates, but the media is showing him love from where he came from to where he's at.Yet he was in a system and couldn't deliver a title with some damn good teammates. Then he punks out and joins a team that wins 73 games like they needed his help...just for him to get a cheap title shot. He's pathetic. And the gut the roster of key role players and starter to get him.

Now I'm pulling for LeBron and Co., and I can't stand him either. It's funny cause a couple a years ago the Warriors faced the Cavs without Kyrie, Love and J.R. Smith and had a tough time pulling that on out. Then last year...73 wins, big bad Warriors lose 3 straight! Can't remember the last time in 3 playoffs seasons they've played a team at full strength. Always been key injuries. Wanna talk about an "Astrix"

This is what the NBA wants. I think sterling is as happy with Zaza as any warrior fan... Zaza playoff MVP

We pull of game 3 and game 4 with kawhi back then its 2-2 and the pressure is on them. Game 3 is all that matters right now. Hopefully Kawhi is near 100%

I don't think so. This is a disaster for the NBA. Does coming in to upset the unbeatable warriors then facing off against LeBron would be great TV. Now the NBA only has the finals to showcase in an otherwise dull playoffs.

I hate being right.....

To me, Pop's rant yesterday was just as much about Zaza as it was a concession the spurs were done.

Then they go out and prove my fears...the only person who came to play was Simmons. Aldridge, Gasol, Mills, and Green should be ashamed of themselves.

Then Pop talks about Aldridge needs to score, he still had the shots but wasn't hitting. Like I've said before, this game is about shooting efficiency. Spurs outshot Warriors 100-89 difference being Spurs hitting 37% and Warriors hitting 56%

Gasol, Aldridge, Mills and Green were a combined 10 for 29 fg and 2 for 10 from 3pt. The only bright spot was our rebounding, but who cares how many second chance shots you get if you don't make them.

Pathetic, keep dreaming gwilly101, this series is over.

I certainly hope spurs keep Simmons over Mills, Patty has just melted under this pressure.

and yes Durant is a punk who will be smiling all the way to a championship.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think the NBA wants GS in. There is already a dramatic story line there. Everyone outside of spurs fans are tired of SA. The NBA probably didn't want it to happen this way, but as long as the jobs gets done.

I’m not ready to throw the towel in just yet. GSW did what they were supposed to do, win at home to maintain their home court advantage. Now, it falls to SA to win at the AT&T Center to keep pace. But that first game did tell volumes about the Spurs --- for the first 2 quarters of game #1, the Spurs had the Warriors by the cajo*es and it wasn’t until Leonard walked off that court that GSW saw the green light. And without Leonard, the Spurs’ offense/defense disintegrated. You could say that the Spurs were shell shocked, stunned or whatever descriptive adverb you want to use but they weren’t in the game to the end. But that same adverb cannot be used for game #2 because the only Spurs player who showed up wearing a jockstrap was Simmons; the rest lost theirs somewhere between the hotel and the arena. But Leonard is listed as ‘questionable’ for game #3, at least that’s what I’ve read so far. And I know he’ll wear his jockstrap to the game because he’s wanted to be on the floor since that first limp and fought to stay there until Will Sevening escorted him to the dressing room. Who knows, like someone said above, Kawhi might pull a ‘Willis Reed’ and hobble out and gimp up and down the court, because he knows, and the rest of the team had better know it too, that two more losses to the Warriors and you pack your bags for your vacation. Besides, I’m on permanent vacation so I’ll stick around and support the team with the few here who have some spirit left. GOSPURSGO!!!!

Yeah, it's like a 3rd rematch in boxing...one fight had an unforeseen circumstance, 2nd fight was won by a draw. Do they hope the 3rd fight would be a knockout. Still, it's all about the money and draw for the sport. Spurs have been and never will be welcome in the Finals. All they want is the Warriors or Lakers, if they were any good. Hell, they'd like Warriors/Lakers in the WCF! East coast...wherever LeBron is...period.

NBA is all about the benjamin's...hence why they're putting advertisements on the jerseys next year. Oh, yeah...didn't Pop start the whole "Rest" guys in national televised games? NBA is still pissed about that. Spurs are the Matt Bonner redhead stepchild of the league. They love to talk consistency, the gold standard of franchises in ALL of sports, but the Finals...."WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE!"

Which makes the spurs accomplishments even more impressive... Winning consistently in a leauge that doesn't want you to succeed.. Post above said they aren't throwing the towel in yet.. Neither am I... But Leonard has to come back healthy by game 3. Small shot.. But still a shot.

I don't think there is any question.. Kawhi on one leg could have had a better game than Aldridge in game 2. Spurs need a refund.

Well, with Kawhi out tonight and IT looking injured for Boston, the NBA gets the rematch they've been waiting for.

Trade Aldridge for Toronto's center, Enes Kanter, Derrick Favors...someone! I'd even take Okafor!

I'd send ya a 'life saver' but it might dissolve before it gets to ya. I'm doing a dog paddle but the life in this team is going out real quick unless 'someone' seriously steps up and hard. Some of these guys look like zombies at times, just going thru the motions. I think one of the coaches need to go to a neighboring farm and borrow a cattle prod. Get some life back into to these guys.

GOSPURSGO!!!

We will probably go down tonight and very possibly closed out in game 4. Im excited for the future though. Have a feeling Kawhi win another title eventually.

I thought maybe Lamarcus would have a big game tonight and prove me wrong... 6 pts at halftime... What a waste of cap space.

The spurs played well overall (ahem...aldridge) but they are just over matched. Sad reality is even this depleted spurs team could still beat any other NBA team not called Warriors and Cavaliers.

I am just at a serious loss about why pop won't put dedmon in? He played well the few minutes he was finally put out there.

I think this series has sealed his faith with this team...think he's on the trading block soon...at least by the deadline. Just not SPURS material after all. His contract will be attractive, especially for a salary dump for a team.

Kawhi Leonard ‘Likely Out’ For Game 4

May 21st, 2017 at 12:18pm CST by Arthur Hill

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said today that Kawhi Leonard is “likely out” for Monday’s Game 4, relays ESPN.com.

That means San Antonio will have to ward off elimination without its star forward, who hasn’t played since aggravating a sprained left ankle after landing on Zaza Pachulia after a jump shot in Game 1.

A first-team All-NBA selection, Leonard has been an indispensable part of the Spurs this season. He averaged 25.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per night, and is considered one of the top defenders in the league. He increased those numbers to 27.7 and 7.8 in the playoffs before the injury.

Popovich added that David Lee is doubtful for Monday after being hurt early in Game 3. He was diagnosed with a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, and the Spurs are waiting for MRI results before they make a decision.

From what I saw in game one...with Kawhi and a healthy Tony, we beat the Warriors in 6. Game one would have been a crusher for them to lose. They're just not 15-30 points better than the Spurs...No WAYYYYY!

I agree Mr. Jones. Warriors are not invincible, we have the tools still for an upset.Celtics won one without Thomas, could we win one without Kwai??
Win, lose or draw I will always be a Spur fan as long as they keep playing the game the right. Relish every game. Go Spurs Go

i guess better start working on the Milsap for Aldridge trade now.
is it better, is it worse, is it a upgrade? IDK. doesn't matter, the guy has to Gooo. anything is better. fk it please, dedmon gasol lee all give more at the position than he does. Milsap is atleast not known for being softer than a bean bag. softer than the pilsbury dough boy. softer than a squishy ball.

What's this I hear about John Wall not knowing if he'll resign with the Wizards? In contract till 2018. Now you talk about a point guard I'd give 2 fingers for...as long as I can still play Xbox! Give Murray his shot, but if he doesn't pan out...Wall with Kawhi would be nasty!

at his age Milsap is not worth the $$$ he will get. Spurs need to develop Murray's shot this summer, pick up a solid SG (Green does not cut it as a starter) and more athletic big men (tall SF/PF/C). If they do this they will be fine. Please don't bring Mills back! Also, Let Gino retire!

Nerleans Noel and Rodney Hood...that's my combo of guys I'd take. Lefty with ball handling skills, sweet shot and attacks the rim...sound like anyone on this team? Noel...young, active, athletic and defensive minded with offensive promise with the right coaching.

I have to agree, both Noel and Hood are a tasty pair. But, how do you obtain them, via trade because from the indications I see, they are both signed through 2017-2018.

Damn...team option for Hood, 2.39m and Noel is a free agent unless Dallas has already signed him. Oh yeah....once again Curry and Durant need Herculean efforts to beat us by 15-20...."STILL NOT IMPRESSED!"

I'd take Noel for sure. He has a qualifying offer though so it is going to take a big offer to snatch him from Dallas.
