Boozer get amnestied..

Where does he go... Not like he needs the money, making 17 million, I think. Should we try for him or Marion?

Neither.
Leave the last spot open. Don't mess with chemistry.

I would take Marion over Boozer. I think Booze lands in Mia where he will get plenty of playing time---unless he wants to put out a letter and return to Cleveland too ;)

So does this mean that the Bulls are essentially paying out Gasol's salary plus Boozer's salary minus whatever tax break they get and Boozer plays against them? It must be a humungous tax break.

Boozer just came of their salary cap. It's like he wasn't even there. Except CHI still pays the man.
No salary cap or luxury tax implications.

His history is that he goes where the money is so expect him to sign with a big market team that can offer him something handsome in the future.

If we get another player, it needs to be either a point guard to deal with Patty's absence, a backup SF, or a mobile big to deal with the likes of Ibaka/Griffin.

Boozer would have been a help a few years ago when we had major size problems and offensive deficiencies from the big man spot. Not really anymore.

Probably won't work out as bad for Chicago as when Dallas paid Michael Finley to win a title in SA.

We are capped out, Cavs too. He will end up in a team under the cap per league regulations.
They need to blindly bid for him and whoever offers the most wins.
Then suppose the winner bids 2 million. That team pays him 2 million, Chicago pays 15. Boozer still gets his 17.
But he will not go to a contender as they are all over the cap.
Only way he goes to a contender over the cap is if NO team under the cap bids for him. Which I really don´t think would be possible.
I´m betting the ones who bid for him are Phoenix, Charlotte and Orlando. Miami could bid for him and take him cheap they need to sign a lot of players still and only whatever they bid would count against capspace
