Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard graces Sports Illustrated cover

By Ben Golliver
Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard graced the cover of Sports Illustrated after the Spurs beat the Heat in five games. (SI)

San Antonio demolished Miami so quickly in the NBA Finals that it required real effort to catalog all of the ways the Spurs had distinguished themselves from their previous title teams, from past NBA champions, and from the other 29 teams that competed for a title this season.

Boiling down the Spursí standout characteristics into a laundry list of adjectives might look something like this: dominant, international, systematic, deep, explosive, fluid, unselfish, balanced, disciplined, focused, redemptive and fun.

It's too bad they used the one dunk he didn't finish. Either way, it makes me smile that the media is finally seeing what kind of special team they are. Not only did they dominate the Heat, they totally made a "dynasty" question their entire formula and even question whether they deserved last years title. That's ownership.

Funny , I believe Bosh had previously said after game 3 loss to the Spurs ... " It's nothing that they did " !!! ... And in the end he is quoted on the SI cover as saying " They Played The Best Basketball I've Ever Seen ! " ... That's A Burn !!!
