Very disappointed in Spurs D so far in this series!
We have to make STOPS!
TRANSITION D!!!:rock :gone :rockon :banana :rock
Basic Fundamental Basketball needs to be done better!
Nothing needs to be drawn magically on the board!
Those Little things of going after loose balls! More NASTINESS! More PHYSICALITY! Etc... except for Manu!!!!:wink
Pop said 3 or 4 guys needed to SHOW UP!!!!
We did not have enough Spurs players showing Enough Focus and DESIRE!
(Translation: you know who you are do not make me say your names) :wink facepalm
Overall Mavs showed more desire than our players. :wink
side note: WOW Pop mentioned FIRE :banana
Thanks Pop those were my words exactly at the game thread last night!!! Amen to that Pop! :D
Go Spurs Go
I believe the Spurs are probably very lucky they are not down by 3-0 because that first game could have gone either way. Defense, bench support, ball control and assists throughout the regular season seems to have disappeared in the playoffs. I hope our guys can find themselves and fast. I sure don't want a repeat of the 2011 playoff loss to #8 seed Memphis. Go Spurs!!!!
I noticed how Pop in that interview had a sarcastic tone........
Never had I recall Pop giving any hints on the strategy the next PO game.
Yet those reporters never cease to amaze me with that question over and over
as if Pop was going to give any hints. LOL
Bottom Line. Nothing will change means = BIG HUGE CHANGE coming! :D
Expect exact opposite of Pop's wording most likely!
Still Pop called it right. Offense had recovered nicely game 4 but defense is not recovering to what it should be as a Spurs PO DEFENSE the way it should be.
What I wish would happen tomorrow is that Pop to be more fair those 3 or 4 guys who did not SHOW UP last few games to give them more minutes. Lets test them with the minutes as David Chancler said in the sport segment on ch 4 tonight those bench guys did not have enough minutes to prove themselves. Especially since this series is looking to me as if it could extend to a six or even seven game series. We need to keep those starters fresh and maybe the bench would get INSPIRED and get some FIRE in their bellies.
Go Spurs Go!
Here are key changes I would love to see game 4:
1. START Belinelli in Green place and bring Danny from the Bench and play Danny for about 27 minutes with Belinelli playing for only 19 minutes
2. Play Ayers off that bench about 8 minutes
3. Bring Mills only 14 minutes and let Tony play the entire 33 minutes
4. Play Diaw for 26 minutes off that bench
5. Do not bring in Joseph at any time to shorten that G rotation
6. Play Leonard 28 minutes and Timmy for 32 minutes and Tiago for 22 minutes
7. Do not play Bonner
And of course Spurs tighten up that DEFENSE especially at the second half
I concur as well and get everyone on the floor involved......move the ball, limit turnovers and find a way to keep Dallas from driving to the hole every other play. Ellis and Harris both seem to have a hall pass to the rim.
All year Pop rested players . . . so play the core more. When Mills and Green are playing like NBDL players - you don't have to play them their normal minutes.
Need to win game 4 period.
Corey Joseph is a far better defender than Mills. I actually think he should get some of Patty's time.
Parker needs to calm down and show up from the get go in Game 5!
