Phil Jackson: "Spurs not a dynasty"

San Antonio Spurs News, Scores, Stats & Analysis – Spurs Nation » Phil Jackson: Spurs no dynasty

Now the president of the Knicks, Jackson was at it again on Wednesday, sneaking in a quick jab on the Spurs’ inability to defend any of their four championships while complimenting Tim Duncan for taking a salary cut on his most recent contract.

As told by New York Newsday’s Al Iannazzone:

Tim Duncan making the salary he’s making after being part of a dynasty – not a dynasty, I wouldn’t call San Antonio a dynasty — a force, a great force. They haven’t been able to win consecutive championships but they’ve always been there. San Antonio has had a wonderful run through Tim’s tenure there as a player. He’s agreed to take a salary cut so other players can play with him so they can be this good. And that’s the beginning of team play.

It’s probably a matter of semantics. The Spurs never even reached the Finals after winning a championship, let alone defending their title. But they’ve also engineered the most successful 17-year stretch in NBA history with a winning percentage of 70.6 and 15 straight seasons with at least 50 victories.

Phil Jackson has always pounded his own pud over pounding the rock.

Nuff said.

Talk about a jealous ungracious egomaniac soon to be fired as GM of the Knicks. It's always about Phil than the team. He's never built a damn thing that wasn't stacked and laid out by others before he got there. He never even gave Tex his due over the Tri people think he revolutionized.

Lakers suck.

Meh, the Spurs greatness is already etched in history. He can't change it. I'd be interested to see if the thinks the 80s Celtics were a dynasty, because they never won back to back either.
