The Spurs have jettisoned the last of their training camp invites, waiving swingman Courtney Fells and guard Dan Nwaelele on Sunday per a team release.
The Spurs are down to the 14 contract players with which they are expected to enter the regular season, which begins against Memphis on Oct. 30. They had started training camp with six free agents, including veteran forwards Corey Maggette and Sam Young.
Fells and Nwaelele both appeared in three preseason games. Fells averaged 4.7 points and 3.3 rebounds. Nwaelele — like Spurs coach Gregg Popovich a graduate of the Air Force Academy — averaged 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds.

Well Ayers is the one who truly made it all the way and deserves applause. Marco was signed during the offseason as a fre-agent with intent to have him play for us all season.
