Popovich showed team Game 6 again

It might be the single moment in San Antonio Spurs franchise history that may hang over like a dark cloud for years to come - seeing a lead in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals slip through their fingers as well as title number five.

San Antonio was up five points with 28 seconds remaining on the game clock in the fourth quarter and the rest, as they say, was history. Miami would tie the series at 3-3 only to go on and win the championship in the decisive Game 7.

Since then, many Spurs player have been haunted by what could have been. It has been weighing on their collective minds and as the team enters a new season, head coach Gregg Popovich isn't letting the players forget what happened.

During Tony Parker's French radio show, he stated Pop showed them video of Game 6 in a long video session if anything to supply them with motivation heading into the new season.

Via French site BFM TV:

"[W]e watched the Finals again. Gregg Popovich has shown us Game #6 during a long video session (laughs). The coach was not happy. He wanted to anger us, motivate us and remind us that we had come very close last year. If we do the same this season, we can, of course, return to the Final and finish on a better note. "

This is some motivational tool Pop employed here. Nothing like getting a veteran team like the Spurs riled up before the season gets underway.

This is exactly what San Antonio needs. They need to play with a chip on their shoulders the entire season. So what better "chip" than to show them Miami celebrating a comeback win which eventually led the Heat to back-to-back titles.

In a Western Conference with hungry, young teams, such as the Thunder, Rockets, Warriors, Nuggets, Clippers, San Antonio needs every advantage they can get. It doesn't have to be a roster move, a change in lineups, or a winning streak - a simple reminder of what could have been may end up being all the Spurs needs to redeem themselves comes June.

Is there any way we could set up the auto censor to redact "G--e S_x" from any post on the board.

Maybe POP should thank himself for benching his best rebounder with 17 rebounds in those 28 seconds for not getting a key rebound to clinch it! I am sure Tim gets one board there and gets atleast ONE FT.

Pop is a HOF coach but you don't bench your HOF PF/C at the end of the game even if it's for one second in the Finals. You just don't do that.

YEP, maybe it's time to have POP take some accountability as well because he sure as hell was mainly to blame at the end of that game. He put Tim on the bench to guard the three but instead they give Lebron two WIDE OPEN LOOKS? What was the point if you are not going to guard the three? Might as well get one rebound and end it but he put Tim on the bench.

Besides benching Duncan on those 22222222222 plays he does not foul on either play where 4 ft's would not do it. Pop LOST that game guys and he should accept it!

Does anyone have anything saying that he HASN'T taken some accountability? I'm sure it kills him, which is why he's still haunted by it. He's accountable, but not fully though. Ginobili and Green were trash the whole game. Splitter was trash. Ginobili had some costly turnovers that let the Heat get it to that point. But yes, Tim should have been in for that possession too.

They all lost. Players and head coach. But Pop needs to look in the mirror and the video too. Not just the players. It's over. History. They will always regret it. They can win the next five trophies but 2013 will always burn them no matter how they finish their careers. As a fan it stings but I'm just a fan so it hurts them more. Or it should.

If they won some more trophies I am SURE that would ease the sting just a little bit! Hell this year winning one would ease the pain just a littttttttttttle bit I would say
